Mamamia’s What’s In Her Bag series asks Aussie women to give us a look at their everyday beauty routines. Kind of like a sex diary but with beauty. So… not like a sex diary at all. We discover what women are putting on their faces, how much of their hard-earned cash goes towards beauty, and what works for their busy lives. There’s no right or wrong, just real beauty from real women. This week, a 29-year-old designer shows us what’s in her bag.

AM skincare routine.
My skincare routine has a good mix of more expensive products and ones I grab from the chemist. I cleanse my face every morning with CeraVe Hydrating cleanser, it gives me a nice and gentle cleanse without stripping my skin and leaves it beautifully soft. I follow that with a couple of spritzes of the Paula's Choice Refreshing Moisture Mist to re-dampen my skin. I find it so refreshing and having a slightly damp face means the next product can penetrate better and spread over my face easier. Then, I use about three or four drops of the Go-To Face Hero oil in the palm of my hand and gently press it onto my face and neck. I love this stuff! It not only hydrates and plumps my skin, but gives me a dewy glow and offers me the antioxidant protection I need.
Next, I dab a tiny amount of Paula's Choice Anti Ageing eye cream and pat it in with my ring finger. This saves my flaking skin around my eyes and sits beautifully under my concealer, so it doesn't dry or go cakey. I then follow with the CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion (PM version). It's not heavy or greasy, but hydrates my skin so well and sits great under makeup. Just a good, reliable moisturiser that's simple and gets the job done. Then, most importantly, sunscreen! I love the Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face SPF 50. It's the most gorgeous sunscreen I've ever used. Such a luscious creamy formula, no white cast, not at all greasy - just lush!
CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, $18.99.
Paula's Choice Refreshing Moisture Mist, $36.
Go-To Face Hero, $45.
Paula's Choice Anti Ageing Eye Cream, $55.
CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion PM, $21.99.
Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face Superscreen SPF 50+, $40.

My night time routine is a bit more full on. The first step is to do a double cleanse and remove my makeup, it's my favourite step of all! I'm really loving Double Cleanse by Pixi + Caroline Hirons. This is such a great two-part product. The balm isn't too thick or heavy and the cream is so light and hydrating. As I have dry skin, I avoid foaming cleansers that strip my skin. To use it, I scoop a good amount of the balm and gently rub it over my face, eyes and neck dry. I do this for as long as I can stand it to really melt down all the makeup. After a few minutes, I use a warm, damp muslin cloth to gently remove the balm and ensure no residue is left behind. Then, I use the second side, which is a lovely cream cleanser, to actually cleanse my skin before rinsing off with water.
Next up is exfoliating - I do this three or sometimes even four times a week if my skin is feeling a little rough. The current one I'm using is the Go-To Exfoliating Swipeys. I love how gentle and hydrating they are. I find lactic acid the most hydrating acid of them all and the one my skin responds best to. They smooth and brighten my skin, and the citrus scent is amazing. After that, I apply a spritz of the Paula's Choice Moisture Mist and the Paula's Choice Vitamin C15 booster. I put four drops into my palm and press onto my skin. This brightens my skin and helps with uneven skin tone and pigmentation.
Then, I follow with the Hylamide Hyaluronic acid booster for an extra layer of moisture - I like to sandwich together several layers of hydration. This one isn't sticky and my skin feels nice and plump afterwards. On top of that goes the Face Hero oil and I set it all in with a light layer of the Paula's Choice Omega Complex Moisturiser, which is a nice, nourishing moisturiser that isn't too rich and has a lovely, almost whipped texture. Last but not least, back to the Paula's Choice Anti Ageing Eye Cream.
Double Cleanse by Pixi + Caroline Hirons, $55.
Go-To Exfoliating Swipeys, $46.
Paula's Choice Refreshing Moisture Mist, $36.
Paula's Choice Resist C15 Super Booster, $62.

Paula's Choice Omega+ Complex Moisturiser, $48.
Paula's Choice Anti Ageing Eye Cream, $55.
Everyday makeup routine.
I'm all about a glowy base to look awake. Personally, I don't like to use any powder products on my dry skin, my goal is always to look fresh and alive. My everyday base is the Nars Radiant Tinted Moisturiser mixed in with a little bit of the Mecca Cosmetica Illuminating Primer. I mix this together with my fingers and gently apply over my face and neck. The tinted moisturiser offers a sheer to medium amount of coverage and the primer gives a boost of glow. It evens out my skin tone without looking too heavy - you can still see my skin!
Then I use the Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer under my eyes. Such dewiness! I have really dark circles and this is full coverage but not at all dry. It is very dewy and hydrating, and you only need a tiny amount. I use it on any blemishes I need to cover, too. Next up is a creamy blush. My current fave is the Mecca Cosmetica Hydra Cheek Tint & Illuminating Balm Duo in Watermelon. It's such a pretty bright pink blush on one side and a super glossy highlighter on the other. I use my fingers most of the time to apply the blush to the apples of my cheeks and up towards the temple, then the highlighter on the top of the cheeks, on my cupid's bow and down the bridge of my nose.
For eyes, I keep it super simple. My favourite palette is the Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Palette, it's pinky and brown shimmery goodness. My favourite colour for everyday is Reputation. It's a darker pinky/brown shimmer that makes my eyes pop. I apply that over my whole eyelid with a MAC 239 brush, and mix a matte brown and pink shade together to apply in my crease using a MAC 217 brush. I curl my lashes with the Shu Uemura curler and pop on a new favourite, the MCoBeauty tubular mascara. Finally, I use the MAC brow styler pencil to fill brows in and the MAC tinted brow gel to set them in place. The gel adds so much texture to my brows so they appear thick and full. My favourite lipstick is the Tarte colour splash lipstick in Sunkissed, which is a stunning peachy nude. That's me done.

Hair care products and fragrance.
I love hair products from Living Proof and my favourite is their Full Dry Volume Blast for some serious volume and texture. I also love their volumising mousse. I'm more of a signature scent person, mine is Narciso Rodriguez For Her.
Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast, $44.
Living Proof Full Thickening Mousse, $43.
Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDT, 50ml for $139.
Natalie's Spendy: Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil.
This is the most luxurious oil I've ever used. It has such an amazing texture, feels beautiful on the skin and is super nourishing.
Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, $110.
Natalie's Savey: Flower Beauty Light Illusion Full Coverage Concealer.
Talk about a great find in the chemist aisles. This concealer is full coverage, but not drying, and a little goes a long way.
Flower Beauty Light Illusion Full Coverage Concealer, $9.99.

Interesting bag here. I'm wondering if a $33 eyelash curler actually works any better than the $6 one I bought at Woolies.
They’re pretty much the same
I figured.
