If you’re not already watching Schitt’s Creek, you’re missing out.
The show is already onto season four, and I’ll be honest, while I’ve had it on my to-watch list for years, I only finally got stuck into at the beginning of this year.
And I’m so happy I did.
I honestly didn’t have any real expectations going in, but literally, within the first couple of scenes, I was obsessed. This show is smart, sassy and funny.
Oh my God, sooo funny. I’m talking pause-the-TV-because-you’re-crying-from-laughing-so-hard-you-can’t-actually-see-or-breathe funny.
The first time I sat down to watch it was with my family, and we were all killing ourselves with laughter. Needless to say, they are now hooked, too.
My sister has even nicknamed me “Alexis” after one of the main characters on the show – and I don’t know if that’s a compliment or not – but I’m here for it.
So, you're probably wondering what it's all about?
Well, it follows the once-extremely wealthy Rose family - Johnny, Moira, and their two adult children, David and Alexis.
After going bankrupt and losing all of their possessions, they were allowed to keep just one thing - the town Johnny had bought his son as a joke for his 16th birthday, aptly named Schitt's Creek.
With no place to live and no other options, the family take what little they're left with - mainly all of Moira's wigs - and head out to Schitt's Creek, where they hole up in the local motel.
Small-town life is a culture shock for the family, and they leave the locals they encounter - including the mayor, Roland, and the young woman behind the counter at their motel, Stevie - feeling both confused and bemused by their presence.
The cast is all kinds of amazing, too.
It stars longtime collaborators Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara as Johnny and Moira.
The show is a family affair for Eugene, whose real-life son, Daniel, plays David, and real-life daughter, Sarah, plays the town's lone waitress, Twyla.
Dan is the genius behind the show, and he says he showed an early script to his dad, just to get his opinion on it.
"I came to him and pitched the idea and asked him if he would be interested at all in just fleshing it out and seeing if there was anything there. And fortunately, there was some interest and we started talking," the 34-year-old told National Public Radio back in 2015.
From there, Eugene brought Catherine onboard.
"I was not going to say, 'No, that’s not a good idea,'" Dan told The New York Times in 2015.
"When he offers up Catherine O’Hara, you take it and run with it."

Chris Elliott also stars in the series as the town's simple-minded mayor, Roland Schitt.
Its all-star cast aside though, the most brilliant thing about Schitt's Creek is just how relatable it is, even during its most absurd moments.
Sure, we may not have had a billion dollars in our bank accounts at one stage, but we all have families, and we can all relate to the complex dynamics involved with those relationships.
There is literally no one who you are closer to, but who drives you completely insane all at the same time, and Schitt's Creek manages to capture that perfectly.
