She's not gaslighting at all, she simply hasn't ever explained her appearance and NOR SHOULD SHE HAVE TO!  You are assuming a LOT, what and why she may have made personal decisions... so long as she is happy when she looks in the mirror, or into the eyes of her children smiling back at her, has she really "fallen prey" to anything? Bravo Madonna for your trailblazing courage to speak out from the heart and also your consistent personal commitment to driving the conversation back to equality - all the while entertaining us for 40 years!
