Plus size models recreate THAT Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover. And it's amazing.

Remember the cover of this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue?

No? Never mind, because plus size swimwear brand Swimsuits for All has recreated the cover proving that all bodies are bikini bodies.

The company teamed up with Aussie model Robyn Lawley, fellow models Jada Sezer, Shareefa J and fashion blogger Gabi Fresh to create their first ever swimsuit calendar. The retailer said that they wanted to promote a healthy body image using “confident, sexy women with varying body types to highlight the beauty in all women.”

“Each year, the world waits with bated breath for iconic sexy swim images from the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, but Swimsuits For All knows that sexy curves bends beyond a size four.”

We knew that already, but they sure do make a convincing case for anyone still sitting on the fence:

In the accompanying video Lawley, 24, reveals that she used to wear her bra and undies to the beach because she couldn’t find cossies that fit her 6’2″, size 14 frame.

“I really struggled to find a swimsuit in my size, I was wearing underwear at the beach. I thought this had to change, and I had to change it,” Robyn Lawley said.

Fashion blogger Gabbi Greg, 27, wanted to be involved in the campaign to help promote a healthier body image.

“I think it’s sad that the representatives of women in mainstream culture are so small, just because we have such a diversity of sizes in the real world. So many women see those girls, and think that they have to look like them,” Gregg said.

Jada Sezer, 24, hopes that more magazines and brands will see the campaign and consider embracing different body shapes.

“I think there needs to be more publications and campaigns so that people can say, wow, I look like these women, and they look comfortable and sexy and they’re portraying my body type,” Sezer said.

Your move Sports Illustrated.

I don't know if it's just me, but I think that healthy body image isn't just about physical health. I have been looking through a lot of the comments on here and that's what a lot of people have an issue with. I think that a healthy body image is also be about mentally healthy body image. Maybe instead of everyone attacking each other with their opinions about physical health, we should look at the women who end up with eating disorders, depression, anxiety etc because of the way body image is displayed in the media. Personally it isn't up to me to judge someone's health because of their size, someone could be starving themselves and still be considered plus size by commercial media (just FYI this was me at 15). So if we focused more on helping with the mental health of women it may just help them become physically healthier as well? Healthy mind, healthy body NOT healthy body, healthy mind.
