Madonna is under medical care after she was reportedly found unresponsive and rushed to hospital.
In a post on Instagram, Madonna's manager, Guy Oseary, wrote the 64-year-old spent "several days" in the intensive care unit after she "developed a serious bacterial infection" over the weekend.
"Her health is improving however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected," he wrote.
Oseary added Madonna's commitments, including her world tour have been put on "pause".
"We will share more details with you as soon as we have them," he said.
The tour was set to begin on July 15, with performances scheduled in 35 cities around the world.
Last week, Madonna shared photos of herself during rehearsals on Instagram.
"The Calm Before The Storm…," she captioned the post.
According to Page Six, the singer's daughter, Lourdes Leon, remains by her side as she recovers.
