A 6-step skincare routine and purple shampoo: How The Bachelorette's Ciarran looks so saucy.

What I Put On My Face is Mamamia’s new celebrity beauty series that goes inside the beauty cabinets of some of Australia’s most influential people. From what skincare products they use to their go-to makeup tips, it’s a pervy look at exactly what they put on their face. And body. And hair. You get the idea.

This week, we speak to Ciarran Stott. If you’re a fan of The Bachelorette and have been watching Angie Kent search for love, you’ll know Ciarran broke all of our hearts when he had to leave the reality show last week. Don’t tell the others, but he was our favourite contestant and he’ll be remembered for his fun personality, fabulous cocktail party outfits and his glorious hair! Ciarran shares his six-step skincare routine and why getting dressed up was his favourite part of being on reality TV… aside from meeting Angie, of course. Enjoy!

Ciarran Stott’s skincare routine.

I have oily skin and I do get breakouts a lot. Living in Darwin at the minute isn’t the best because we’ve got two seasons and in the wet season, my skin is absolutely horrendous. It breaks out all the time, spots everywhere, and I don’t want those. I use [the skincare brand] Skinstitut because I go to Laser Clinics [for facials]. It’s the beauty regime they gave me to keep my skin in good condition and it works really well.

In the morning, I use their gentle cleanser in the shower – I have no idea why it’s a gentle cleanser but that’s what it says on the bottle. I also use the L-Lactic cleanser, again, no idea what it does but it’s great for a second cleanse. Out of the shower, I use the Even Blend Serum, it makes your skin feel proper nice and tight.

From there, I use the Vitamin C powder and mix it in with some moisturiser to make a paste, and then I pop some moisturiser on. I feel like a bit of an idiot because I don’t know what all the products do, but they work and that’s all you want.

At night, it’s the exact same, apart from a skin peel mask. I put on a layer of that at night and my skin feels great in the morning, so I can’t complain. I also love face masks from Chemist Warehouse. I love going in there and grabbing a load of them. I chuck them on and watch some telly or go on my laptop.

Ciarran Stott's hair and body care routine.

I've always wanted to look my best. I even remember there was this old geezer at the church I went to when I was little who always said you need to smell nice, look nice, make sure your shoes are clean and your teeth are clean. I took that on board as a little kid and it's stuck with me.

On The Bachelorette, I was definitely up for experimenting with different looks, but I said to Kim, the stylist, that with the suits I wanted, I wanted to be out there and stand out, I didn't want to blend in and look like a real estate agent. I told her she had free reign to [style me] however she wanted. So then I told the hair and makeup artists they could match my hair to the outfits and have free reign, too. I didn't care what it was, I just wanted to have a laugh and a good time.

My favourite part of the show, apart from trying to win Angie's heart, was actually the hair, makeup and styling. I absolutely loved that, it was my favourite. With makeup on the show, they'd do a bit of foundation and that was it. No eyeliner or anything, but to be fair, I would've liked [that]. But with hair, it was all fun hairstyles.

One time I remember when I came out, Angie said, "oh, you try to out-dress me every time" and I said, "what do you mean try? I do!". I wish I could style it the way they did on the show. At the cocktail parties, I had braids and wore it curly on one side, but then in the house it was always up.

I am a natural blonde, but I'm not my natural blonde right now. I've got mousey brown hair, but I wanted to do something a little bit different for the show, so I went to my hairdresser and asked for something a bit crazy and out there. At the minute, I look old and grey because it's platinum and shiny as anything. People ask if it's my natural hair colour, but not a chance!

I wash my hair every three days, I use a purple shampoo. But it's annoying because it stains your hands and I've got these purple hands that I'm walking around with, I feel like a bit of a weirdo. I've never gone this blonde before - my hair goes light when I'm in the ocean or at the beach - but now it goes proper wiry so I have to use lots of conditioner. I'm never going this colour again, it's a pain in the arse. It's high maintenance, and I am high maintenance, but this is next level.

For fragrance, I absolutely love the smell of the Tom Ford cologne. With some colognes, you can't really smell them and you have to put on 45 sprays. But with the Tom Ford one, you spray it once and everyone asks what you're wearing. It might be $35 per spray, but it's a good one.

His favourite products.

Kérastase Blond Absolu Bain Ultra-Violet, $46.

Tom Ford Private Blend Tobacco Vanille Eau De Parfum, 50ml for $340.

I adore this guy and how comfortable he is in his own skin.

Well, if he was being comfortable in some else's skin, that's both disturbing and no doubt a new Hollywood blockbuster. ;o)
