"You don't owe anyone your time." 25 women share their best advice for women entering their 30s.

As far as societal expectations go, your thirties are supposed to be the best years. You're done with the confusing 20s and you've learned who you are and what you want in life.

It's also the decade where there's the most pressure to have certain boxes ticked - to have a great job, solid income, own a home, settle down and start a family. And that's a little daunting.

We asked the Mamamia community to share their best advice for women entering their 30s. Here's what they said.

But first, here are some amazing women we love who became famous after 30. Post continues below.

1. "You'll wake up 30 feeling the same as you did at 29 and 364 days. So, don’t waste time agonising and start celebrating and feeling joy!" - Belinda-Jane.

2. "Use sunscreen every day." - Kylie.

3. "Don’t wait to start loving yourself. Start now! Don’t care what others think, do what makes you happy!" - Peta.

4. "It’s time for a friend cull! Maintain those friendships that bring value to your life, who are supportive of all you do and who love you for who they are. It’s time to stop putting in the effort for anyone else!" - Danielle.

5. "You're still a baby and you are yet to reach your peak! Enjoy life." - Jo.

6. "Put yourself first and surround yourself with good energy, always. Aging is a gift not awarded to everyone. Embrace the present and plan for the future, be thankful for your 20s but don't give them so much importance that you can't grow and move forward. And finally, have compassion for yourself and for others." - Diya.

7. "Don’t be down about it. Your 30s are so much better than your 20s!" - Emma.

8. "Write a list of 30 things to do in your 30s - it should be a mix of fun, personal goals, small, big, practical and wild things. You might not tick them all off, but it might just be the nudge you need on some occasions!" - Fleur.

9. "Read The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck and put it into practice now." - Tilly.

10. "Exercise and eat well." - Kylie.

11. "Your thirties are the most awesome decade. It's the time when you're still young enough not to have health issues, but old enough to have your opinions respected and listened to. It's the decade when you find your own sense of style, instead of just following fashion trends whether they suit you or not. Often it's the time when your career gets really established or you think about starting a family." - Tristan.

12. "Age is just a number, don’t compare yourself to others the same age." - Natasha.

13. "Don’t fear any of it, embrace it with open arms!" - Emma.

14. "It’s. Not. That. Bad. I’m more in tune with my body, my beliefs, my worth and my passion in my 30s than I ever was in my 20s. I hate that 30 is seen as the point where life plateaus and starts a slow descent; I’m achieving more and savouring life more now than ever! Eat the cake, drink the champers and say yes to life!" - Kaitlyn.

15. "If you want children, don't put it off! (Assuming your current circumstances, make it possible.)" - Virginia.

16. "You don’t owe anyone your time. By 30, you likely have one or more of the following: kids, pets, a busy job, mortgage, family commitments, and parents getting older. If you don’t want to go to the party, coffee or catch up because you’d prefer to stay home and rest and watch Netflix or garden... don’t." - Dylin.

17. "Mental health is important, don’t be scared to speak to a therapist." - Kylie.

18. "It’s a great excuse for a big party! I’m not married and decided to splash out for my 30th - I invited about 80 people and had the night of my life!" - Lou.

19. "If you haven’t done everything you wanted to achieve by 30, don’t stress. You still have time. Don’t put unrealistic pressure on yourself to meet social standards. E.g. married by 30 and kids by a certain age." - Natalia.

20. "Buy a good pillow and mattress, strengthen your body, and get ready for some mental health stuff you may not know you even have." - Gina.

21. "Make sure you are brushing your teeth correctly. Gums don’t grow back." - Alex.

22. "Stop trying to make everything 'perfect' or have all your 'ducks in a row' before having kids. It doesn't matter!" - Stephanie.

23. "Get regular dental checks." - Kylie.

24. "Don’t see it as entering your 30s. Don’t fear it, don’t give it any negative energy! Just live." - Catherine.

25. "It’s time to look out for number one - YOU! Make time for the people who truly make you happy, and let go of the ones who are holding you back or causing you angst. A small group of meaningful people in your life is better than a large crowd of people who don’t have your best interests at heart. It's so freeing to realise this!" - Kylie.

I celebrated turning 30 by spending 6 months travelling around North America- from Mexico to Alaska and everywhere in between…it wasn’t for everyone but it suited me, and I liked that I entered my 30’s exactly as I wanted..
