Meeting Meghan Markle proved to be a very emotional experience for one New Zealand schoolboy this morning – and honestly, we don’t blame him.
Wellington student Joe Young was brought to tears when he met face to face with the Duchess of Sussex.
Visiting a group of Houghton Valley School children at Lyall Bay’s Maranui Cafe alongside Prince Harry, Meghan kneeled down and attempted to comfort the five-year-old student.
I mean, honestly. Have you ever seen anything sweeter than this?
According to Stuff, speaking to the student's deputy principal Monica Mercury, Meghan described Joe as "really cute and really shy".
Prior to meeting with a small group of school children, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex met with the founders of Voices of Hope, a non profit aimed at breaking the stigma around mental illness.
They also visited a beachside campsite where they met with a local kaumatua, a Maori elder.
"Thank you so much for having us today," Harry told the group.
"From my wife, myself and our little bump, it's a blessing to be here... we bring you greetings from my grandmother."
Meghan and Harry's interactions with children have been major highlights of the royal tour of Australia so far.
While visiting Dubbo earlier in the tour, the Duke and Duchess met with five-year-old Luke Vincent who had a fascination with Prince Harry's beard.
Anne van Dartel, principal of Buninyong Public School in Dubbo, sat beside Luke as she explained why the little boy was so transfixed by Prince Harry's beard.
"Luke loves beards and Luke's favourite person in Santa Claus," she explained.
Anne said she was worried when Luke first reached out to stroke Harry's face - particularly because the school students had been warned against touching the royals.
"Definitely I was very concerned when he started rubbing Prince Harry's face and his hair," she said.
Harry wasn't worried though, and smiled at Luke before receiving a warm hug and introducing Luke to his wife Meghan.
"Prince Harry was completely gracious and was so polite, and realised what was happening with the situation with his beard.
"And we can thank him so much for treating Luke with such respect.
"The way that Prince Harry and Princess Meghan interacted with him was just delightful."
