Man kills partner who screamed ex-husband's name during sex.

When police arrived, he was sobbing over his partner’s body.

When police arrived at the apartment, they found the naked body of a woman on the bathroom floor, her partner sobbing over her.

She was lying in a pool of blood.

Several chunks of “bloody tissue” were found inside a nearby closet. She was dead. Disembowelled, allegedly, at the hands of her partner.

24-year-old Fidel Lopez from Southern Florida in the US  had called emergency services in the early hours of the morning saying his girlfriend, 31-year-old Maria Nemeth, was having trouble breathing.

The two had only recently moved into the apartment block and neighbours described them as quiet.

According to The Sun Sentinel, the couple had been drinking tequila when they began to have sex in the closet.

Lopez told investigators initially that he and Nemeth had been having “rough sex”

He said that during the sex she had asked him to “insert a beer bottle and his fist” inside her vagina because “she enjoyed it.” But that due to her intoxication at one point she “went into the bathroom, vomited and collapsed”.

He told them he then went to bathroom to check on her when she didn’t return, and that he found her having trouble breathing.

He tried to assist her but she was unconscious so he called police.

However when pressed he soon changed his story telling investigators details of a crime that many – even the hardened officers –  found difficult to comprehend.

Lopez said that the two had been drinking and having sex in the closet when Nemeth called out her ex-husband’s name two times.

It was then Lopez said he became a “monster”.

He left Nemeth in the closet and started breaking things throughout the apartment. Local 10 says that he smashed the rear sliding glass door and punched holes in the walls.

He went back to the closet where Nemeth was lying unconscious and “began to insert several items into (her),” the police report said. Among the items noted in the report are a beer bottle and a flat iron.

Local 10 reports that Lopez then inserted his arm into his unconscious partner’s body “all the way up to his elbow” causing her to bleed. Lopez admitted to police that he disembowelled her — ripping internal tissue out of her, including intestinal matter.

Lopez told police he then carried his partner to the bathroom and tried to put water on her face to wake her up, but she never regained consciousness. Before he called police he attempted to clean up the apartment – including attempting to hide her ripped out body tissue – and smoked a cigarette.

Next-door neighbours recalled hearing a man’s voice yelling inside the couple’s apartment along with “loud banging noises” for about two hours, but they said they “thought nothing of it.”

They now say that the whole episode has left a black cloud hanging over the apartment block.

“We’re devastated,” neighbour Dan Carter told Local 10.

“It’s a horrible loss. She was a quiet lovely young lady.”

Lopez was arrested Sunday afternoon on a first-degree murder charge and ordered held without bond in the county jail.
