Beautiful moments from Mardi Gras 2016.

Last night, Sydney flocked to Oxford Street to watch and take part in the Mardi Gras Parade, and boy did we all have a good night.

But of course, the Mardi Gras Parade isn’t just about the dancing and the glitter, it’s about Gay and Lesbian rights.

And although we’ve come a long way since the first march in 1978, we still have far to go.

Mamamia went to the parade with Australian Marriage Equality and heard why they were participating.
