A NSW man has been arrested after surgically removing another man's testicle.

A 52-year-old New South Wales man has had his left testicle removed after posting an online ad requesting assistance with a non-specified medical issue.

His ad was answered by a 56-year-old Glenn Ines local. The pair met at a motel in Port Macquarie on Monday, May 16, at which point an unauthorized medical procedure took place.

Police were called a week later, after the injured man sought medical attention for a wound that was sustained during the procedure.

Authorities searched the home of the alleged perpetrator, and discovered medical and electronic equipment, seven firearms and four bottles of liquid they believe to be amyl nitrate (an inhalant which has a psychoactive effect).

The man has been charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, the possession of restricted substances and not keeping firearms safe.

He will face Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 13 July, where police will allege he performed an illegal medical procedure, given he is not a qualified or registered doctor.

I feel like we need more info here. Why would you advertise for some random person to perform surgery on you? Why would you let someone you just met perform surgery on you in a motel room? All sounds quite strange. Am I the only one wondering if there's some weird kink/fetish thing going on here?

I don't usually judge people's personal lives, but that one is fairly out there!
If it was America I would assume he was tyring to save medical costs, but no reason for that here.
I saw this once in the movie Hard Candy, but that was a totally different scenario.
