Australian woman breaks silence over Malaysia Airlines sexual assault

Australian woman Laura Bushney will recount how a Malaysia Airlines steward allegedly put his hand down her pants in a tell-all interview with Channel Seven’s Sunday Night.

26-year-old Bushney was flying to Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airpoint when she alleges that Mohd Rosli Bin Ab Karim put his hands under a blanket on her lap, and down her pants. Bushney, who was travelling alone on the flight, recorded the incident on her iPhone.

“He’s massaging my legs, I’m so scared I just want to get off this plane,” Bushney can be heard saying on the recording, which will be broadcast during the program. She can also be heard saying: “I don’t want to see you, go away, you give me the creeps you dirty old man.”

The 54-year-old steward, who is married with three children, was taken into custody at Charles de Gaulle.

James Foley’s parents have watched the video of his beheading

James Foley’s parents have spoken to the media in the US, confirming that they watched the video of their son being executed by IS militants in Syria.

Speaking to reporters outside their New Hampshire home, James’ father John confirmed that he and his wife Diane had watched the video of his son’s execution. “We needed to know,” he said.

In an interview with the Today show, John said that they were initially excited to see the email from their son’s captors informing them that he was to be executed, because it was the first contact they had had with his IS since December.

“I was actually excited to see an email, despite the conclusion they would execute him,” he said. “I underestimated that point. I did not realise how brutal they were. I actually hoped we could engage in negotiations with them.”

The Foleys also spoke about receiving a phone call from Pope Francis, who offered his personal prayers.

WHO explains why Ebola outbreak was originally underestimated

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has released a statement explaining why initial estimates of the time and resources needed to contain the Ebola virus were far too conservative.

WHO has placed the blame families hiding their loved ones, and refusing medics entry into villages.
“As Ebola has no cure, some believe infected loved ones will be more comfortable dying at home,” the statement read.

“Others deny that a patient has Ebola and believe that care in an isolation ward – viewed as an incubator of the disease – will lead to infection and certain death. Most fear the stigma and social rejection that come to patients and families when a diagnosis of Ebola is confirmed.”

The statement comes after the UN organisation was criticsed by Medecins Sans Frontières for not doing enough to bring the outbreak, which has already claimed 13000 lives, under control.

Daniel Morcombe’s twin brother has said that Daniel will be “watching from heaven” as he weds his long-term girlfriend.

Bradley Morcombe told the Courier-Mail that he and his older brother Dean will each wear a picture of Daniel pinned to their suit jackets. “Daniel will be watching from heaven, watching over the day, that’s for sure,” he said.

Bradley, 24, referred to his future wedding expressly in his victim impact statement during the trial of Brett Peter Cowan, who was convicted of murdering 13-year-old Daniel. He wrote: “Daniel cannot join me for a beer, or be the best man at my wedding.”

Jury in Ferguson death case revealed

Three black people and nine white people will form the jury that will hear the case of teenager Michael Brown’s death, that sparked the Ferguson riots in the US. More specifically, the jury consists of one black man, two black women, six white men, and three white women. The demographic breakdown roughly reflects that of St Louis County, within which Ferguson is situated.

The case will be first heard in court on Monday.

A teenage girl has been admitted to hospital after her mother fed her tapeworms to make her lose weight before a beauty pageant. The Florida mother had purchased tapeworm eggs in Mexico and fed them to her daughter. The girl was admitted to ER, where she was later discovered by a nurse screaming over a toilet filled with tapeworms.

The story was revealed on a recent episode of US television show Untold Stories of the ER.

How young is too young to start an online presence? The general consensus is 12, with US legislation restricting online accounts to kids who are 13 and over. However, the Wall Street Journal is reporting that Google could be about to change that.

The tech giant is reportedly planning to offer accounts to children of all ages, provided they have parental consent. A source told the Wall Street Journal that the option is being explored because of the large number of parents who are currently signing their children up for accounts, contrary to the services’ terms and conditions.

Sunshine Coast woman wins $35.9m Powerball

A Sunshine Coast woman is looking forward to an early retirement after winning $35.9 million in Thursday night’s Powerball draw. According to News Corp, when verifying her ticket the woman said “I think the most I’ve ever won in lotto is about $20 so this is unbelievable.”

“I can actually retire, I’ve wanted to retire for some time now,” she added.

The ticket was purchased from the Lucky Charm newsagent in Noosaville.
