Helping a child on a flight and having zero ego: Luke Perry is being remembered for his kindness.

On a plane from Mexico to America, two brothers were beating the hell out of eachother; crying, screaming, yelling.

Their poor parents were powerless to stop them.

Out of nowhere a man comes out of first class blowing up a balloon. He ties it off like he’s holding out a sword to a king. Kneeling, head down, arms up. The kids calm in milliseconds, and the whole plane bursts into applause.

The balloon hero was actor Luke Perry, and this is just one of hundreds of incredible stories flowing in (this one is from actor Colin Hanks) after the 90210 and Riverdale star’s death.

When Hanks approached Perry to congratulate him on his kid calming skills, he replied; “I always fly with a couple of balloons for that very reason, to give to screaming kids.”

But that’s just the start….

“Maybe you don’t know [this] but during the flood of 2010 [ in Tennessee] he was out there bringing people food, bottles of water and shoes. A humble, decent dude,” wrote filmmaker Josh Raby.

"We offered him a driver, but his high school buddy drove him in a beat up car. Zero ego," wrote former Obama staffer Michael O'Neill as he reminisced on Perry's trip back to Ohio (his home town) in 2006 for some events.

"When I last saw him at NYCC, he made sure to thank each reporter at my press table saying how much he appreciated us being there. Just the nicest guy," tweeted journalist Chris King.

He was even a true gentleman to the staff at Blockbuster.

"He was the nicest customer we've had, and it isn't even a close competition. There was never one visit where he wasn't anything by considerate," wrote a staff member.

Perry died on Monday, aged 52, after suffering a massive stroke the week before. He was surrounded by his children Sophie, 18 and Jack, 21, his ex-wife of 10 years Minnie Sharp, fiancée Wendy Madison Bauer, mother, step-father and sister.

His publicist released a statement after his death, which revealed he had a fiancée no one knew about, thanking the public, while asking for privacy as the family mourned.

Perry's son Jack is pursuing wrestling, where he goes by the name "Jungle Boy".

Shannen Doherty, Luke's former co-star from 90210 says the actor had "reached out to her during her cancer journey and they picked right back up." They'd in fact been working on show ideas together before his death.

Actress Katherine McNamara says even though she only met Perry briefly, he was "caring, softly spoken, and had good humour." She added that it spoke volumes about his integrity and kind soul.

The tributes remembering a kind, humble and wonderful man continue.

Reminds me of when George Michael died, and all the stories about the lovely things he’d done came out. Always nice to hear someone you’ve been a fan of was also a genuinely nice person in real life too.
