I would say my skin is combination – it can get a little bit dry when there’s a change of season going from summer to winter but it can be oily too. I’ve definitely noticed some changes in my skin during pregnancy. I don’t know if it’s normal, but I’m very, very shiny. I feel really, really lucky I haven’t had breakouts because I know hormones can play havoc with your skin. I’ve had bad skin in the past, so I know it does make you feel good, having clear, radiant, dewy skin.

I’ve stuck to a really good skincare routine for years. Nothing too crazy and nothing that takes up too much time because I don’t want to spend that much time in the bathroom. Especially now while I’m pregnant, I’m loving using the Olay Regenerist Day and Night Creams, which I use in combination with the Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Treatment Serum. It’s great for pigmentation. I do have a bit of pigmentation on the side of my cheek, but I can cover it with concealer.

An all-time favourite product I’ve been using since forever is the Total Effects Foam Cleanser. It gives you that really good, deep, foamy cleanse and I use it as a double cleanser instead of exfoliation. I love coconut oil too because it’s got so many uses – you can cook with it, use it to take makeup off, make a hair mask or a body scrub or put on your body as a moisturiser. I love the new Olay mists, I have been using the Calming Mist after applying my makeup each day to refresh and set my face. They’re amazing for providing instant hydration with just one spray, especially as I’m on my way out the door!

I don’t get facials often but I think it’s one of those things that feels super indulgent. They are expensive but it’s a splurge. My favourite kind of facial is one that’s the perfect combination of results and relaxation, a lymphatic facial. I get it done at Venustus [in Sydney] and it’s great because it’s not really about the products going on the skin, it’s more about sculpting the face and having that drainage. You do notice your cheekbones are more pronounced afterwards and you feel more defined and less puffy.

It’s so amazing, and it’s quite rigorous, they get in there with a gua sha tool and facial cupping. I had it done before shooting an Olay campaign a few months ago and I was thinking, ‘oh my God, I’m six months pregnant and my face is so puffy, and I’ve got to shoot a skincare campaign’, so I went the night before and it made me feel better.

I’m really lucky to be in the makeup chair in front of so many amazing makeup artists, and you do pick up little tips and tricks here and there. I don’t wear that much makeup during the day unless I’ve got something on. When I’m somewhere in a work capacity, I’ll at least put a little bit on but nothing too heavy.

I really like letting my skin breath and not wearing heavy makeup every day. If you talk to any makeup artist, they’ll tell you the foundation for any great beauty look is really beautiful, glowing skin. And even if you do have breakouts, I think not covering them up too much or piling on the makeup is beautiful – everyone has their imperfections and sometimes it’s nicer to let them show.

I do love to glam up for work, but day-to-day, my face is really simple. Probably because I’m a bit lazy, I’m not one of those girls who can spend hours and hours getting ready, I’m too busy for that so I keep it simple. I’ve used the Nude by Nature mineral powder since forever, I don’t really wear liquid foundation. I love that it’s so easy, gives a good bit of coverage and doesn’t look like you’ve got too much on your skin. I really love seeing skin, even when I am going to events, I don’t like it too thick. Seeing your skin is beautiful, so I just use a little bit of that over my moisturiser and I’m ready to go.

I love the Dior concealer, it’s easy to apply and goes on the skin so nicely, and once again, it’s not too thick. I love a really rosy, pinky blush. Blush was something I never, ever used to use and my makeup artist Michael Brown introduced me to it. I always thought it was either blush or bronzer – and I love a really bronze look – so I didn’t realise you could use them together. It just makes the makeup look so fresh, so now I use blush in my own makeup kit, but nothing with too much shimmer. I don’t want my blush too shiny or glittery, you want a really nice matte blush to put on the apples of your cheek and it makes you look youthful.

I’ve had the Tom Ford bronzer for years, it comes in this really chic, white palette and it’s a bit expensive, but I’ve had it for six or seven years, so I guess it’s good cost-per-use. It’s a nice matte bronzer, not too glittery, and it’s easy to blend. I also love anything that’s two-in-one and easy to use. It’s what I gravitate towards. The Givenchy highlighter drops are beautiful, bronzy and glowy so it’s a great product during summer. With highlighter as well, you can also use a bit of moisturiser or paw paw ointment, it doesn’t have to be anything fancy or expensive. You can use anything with a bit of sheen to it, sweat included.

I’ll always wear mascara, I feel like it gives you a little bit of definition. Another thing I’ve learnt is: for blue/green eyes, a bronze eyeliner makes them pop (and makes you look more awake). Sometimes using a dark colour in your waterline can make your eyes look smaller but a bronze in there opens up your eyes. For lips, Pillow Talk by Charlotte Tilbury is a cult classic. Before it launched, it was so hard to find that perfect nude-y, pinkey, peachy lip – sometimes they’re too nude and you can look washed out, or sometimes they’re too pink and you can look like your nanna in the 80s.

My favourite lip balm is from Dior. The reason I love it is because it brings out your natural lip colour. I’ve got girlfriends who wear it and it looks totally different on them than it does on me, because it brings out the natural pigmentation in your own lips. The more you apply, the darker the colour, but if you just want a slick of gloss, it’s a good one.

Before I was pregnant, I was always one to just use a body moisturiser when I shaved my legs. Now, it’s morning and night. The boobs. The nipples. Everything gets moisturised because everything is stretching. And my husband hates it, he’s like ‘you’re so slimy when you get into bed now’.

I have some really incredible stretch marks happening around my boob region because they were the first things that grew, and there’s nothing wrong with stretch marks, but I do think it’s really important to try and keep your skin as hydrated as possible. Everything is growing and stretching and I’ve put on a bit of weight, it’s just what happens, but yes… my body care routine has changed a lot.

You should see my bedside table, it’s full of creams. Stretch mark creams. And different oils because your skin gets itchy because it’s stretching so much. The Weleda pregnancy stretch mark one with rose in it was the first I tried. I bought another one online, the Pai Pomegranate and Pumpkin Seed Stretch Mark System. It’s got something to do with Natalie Portman… I was so click-happy so when I read the bio, I decided to buy it. You put the cream on in the morning and the oil at night. I also love the Kora Body Balm, it comes in a deodorant-like stick so you can literally roll it up and put it on your body without having to rub it in.

My hair feels thicker in pregnancy. There’s a lot of hair on my head but I don’t know if that’s because I’m growing it out or if it’s the hormones. I heard once you start breastfeeding it all falls out so… yeah. I’m open to it all.

I use Aveda shampoo and conditioner products, and I also use an Orbe colour shampoo my hairdresser gave me. Especially being brunette now after the platinum blonde, colour protection is important and I get a gloss treatment put on my hair at the salon whenever I get there. I love the smell of the Aveda products – my sense of smell has become so weird since I’ve been pregnant so I had to change up a lot of my products, depending on what things I did or didn’t like in the early days.

My day-to-day hair style is literally what I do because it’s lazy and easy – swept to one side and tucked behind my ears. I use the VS Sassoon hair straightening brush because I’m terrible at blow drying. So once it’s dry, I run the straightening brush through it and it smooths down the cuticles. I’ve had that tool for years, and it’s cheap, too. It’s great if you can’t blow dry your hair, I’m so uncoordinated, the brush gets stuck and it all goes wrong. Then, I’ll use a paste or a gel – usually my husband’s products now I have shorter hair – and just slick it back.

Basically, my routine is pretty quick and lazy. Right now, I’m hot and sweaty, so I’m just going with it.

Dermalmd stretch mark serum is the best for preventing pregnancy stretch marks & dry skin! I used this everyday on my belly & other dry areas & it prevented any stretch marks that I know otherwise would have appeared, which is why I’ve ordered the 2nd jar for my second pregnancy.
