real life

He was the love of her life. And then he shows up at her workplace 35 years later...

Do you ever get over the love of your life?  Have you ever been confronted out of the blue with an ex?

If it’s possible for a 3-minute video to capture the emotion of being reunited with a great love – this video does it. IN SPADES.

Trust us and watch it until the 1 minute 17 second mark. And then tell me it wasn’t like every great love story you’ve ever read come to life.

So, the back story.

Marina Abramovic is a New York-based ‘performance artist’ … and her latest performance is to sit in an art space at the Museum of Modern Art and share a minute of silence staring into the eyes of any stranger who sits in front of her. Cool.  (Big deal, MM Team — get to the love story bit).

Fair enough.

So Marina’s ex lover (a fellow performance artists known as Ulay) from the 70s shows up unexpectedly and sits in front of her. We get the feeling these two were a bit of a Brangelina-style iconic couple in the 70s.

Here’s a bit of back story from Zen Garage  …

Marina Abramovic and Ulay started an intense love story in the 70s, performing art out of the van they lived in. When they felt the relationship had run its course, they decided to walk the Great Wall of China, each from one end, meeting for one last big hug in the middle and never seeing each other again.

You with us?

So Ulay turns up out of the blue and sits in front of the former love of his life. And THIS is how she reacts …

So, great loves? Ever had one? Have you ever run into a former great love and how did you handle that moment?

more than one love 10 years ago

14 years ago I met a man who I feel deeply in love with, but I had a boyfriend... we broke up, i dated the lovely man for a while and it was wonderful, frantic, too soon and so intense. to cut a long story short.. I ended up getting back with the boyfriend, marrying him, i have kids and I am very happy.. I do still miss the other man from time to time and wonder how he is sometimes. but honestly... the magic of the romance and the memories of this perfect man are always going to be better than the reality would have been. not because I didn't love him, I obsessively did, but because when you build someone up to be perfect they can't deliver. My husband is wonderful.. and much better for me... a different kind of love of my life... but if there were two of me....
