The EyEnvy eyelash serum that'll have you emerge from isolation with your longest lashes, ever.

UPDATE: Now we’re all in isolation, there’s no better time to take up a new self care ritual, if you feel like it. Why? Well, because you’ve got the time! We thought now would be a great opportunity to remind you about this very excellent eyelash serum Senior Lifestyle Writer Amy Clark is obsessed with if you’re keen on coming out the other side of quarantine with long eyelashes. Enjoy!

One of the first things I notice about people when I meet them is their lashes.

Strange? Maybe, but if I meet someone with lovely, long eyelashes, I can’t help but ask them if they’re real.

Most of the time, lash lifts, lash extensions or a really good mascara are behind them. But every so often, they’re real.

Last year, I met a woman called Linda on a cruise. Linda had the most amazing eyelashes I’d ever seen, which made me think they were obviously a really lovely, subtle set of lash extensions.

They weren’t. They were her real lashes without mascara. I just about fell off the side of the ship because, having recently given up lash extension, I looked like a plucked chicken with tiny stubs for lashes and desperately needed a solution.

That’s when Linda told me about EyEnvy and my life changed in a very small but quite important way forever.

EyEnvy is a lash conditioner serum that promises longer, fuller lashes within three months thanks to a combination of nourishing vitamins and peptides that targets the lash hair follicles.

You apply it every morning before your skincare and makeup - I put my face serum on, avoiding the eye area, then apply EyEnvy, then wait for both to sink in before moisturising.Think of it like putting on eyeliner - it's clear so you can't see it, but you want to apply the product at the roots of your lashes along the lash line.

The formula is quite runny, but the handy eyeliner-type brush that comes with the tube makes it easy to apply. A little goes a long way, too - don't waste the precious serum going overboard, a single layer over your lash line once (or twice) a day is all you need.

You won't see results instantly, but trust me, be patient and keep consistently applying the product. Because lashes generally take three weeks to regenerate, you won't see any results until the next lash cycle. Depending on your individual lashes, you'll see a difference in the length and fullness of your lashes in around three to six weeks.

I noticed longer, eyelash extension like lashes after around four weeks of consistent use morning and night. The lashes around the outer corners of my eyes were especially long and curled, giving a false lash effect. I also tint my naturally blonde lashes, which brings out the lashes even further.

Finally, people around the office, my mum, my friends and strangers starting asking me if my lashes were real. Being able to pass on the legend of EyEnvy to the next woman felt like a wonderful sisterhood symmetry thing.

After the initial three months of use, I dropped off to applying the product once a week. After six months, I noticed my lashes weren't quite as long anymore, so I've started using it every morning again, knowing the results are worth the extra minute in my morning routine.

As great as I've found using EyEnvy, all lash serums come with some risks, as does anything you put so close to your eyes.

If you know your eyes are irritated easily, be cautious with how much and how frequently you apply EyEnvy. It's also not recommended you use to product for longer than three months at a time, as it can make your lashes grow a bit wonky.

Because you can't buy EyEnvy at major online retailers, the price at salon stockists around Australia can vary from between $100 and $120 for a 3.5ml tube, which will last you five months. Once opened, the active ingredients in EyEnvy are good for around nine months. You can purchase EyEnvy on stockist websites.

I hate wearing mascara and can't justify the cost of lash extensions, so for me, EyEnvy is a worthwhile investment.

Cost per wear, right?

I've been losing my eyelashes for the past year after being diagnosed with Hashimoto's and I was sceptical of Dermalmd Eyelash Growth Serum at first cos these kind of products don't ever seem to do anything for me but my god my lashes look insane after only 4 weeks of continued use every night. I don't know if it's helped grow new hair or if it's grown my current eyelashes but they look like I've got fake lashes on. They look so long and full! I will keep using it just incase they stop growing again. Love this product!
