The little Legend is already getting his picture taken. Regularly.
Model Chrissy Teigen is pregnant — and getting near-constant ultrasounds.
She and her husband John Legend announced their baby news on Instagram last week, writing that the pair were “so excited that it’s finally happening” after years of IVF treatment.
Like any woman who’s being trying to conceive, Teigen was clearly exhilarated to finally be expecting. But unlike many other pregnant women, 29-year-old Teigen has been getting ultrasounds “every few days” to check on her unborn baby.
Teigan referenced her frequent pregnancy scans after posting an image of her growing baby bump to Instagram.
The cute image of the clearly visible bump — along with the caption “somebody’s early to the party” — led commenters to suggest she may be having twins or even triplets.
But the model did not take kindly to that speculation, and embarked on a Twitter rant to make clear she’s only expecting one little Legend.
“It isn’t twins. I can see the damn thing,” she wrote.
Then, in the course of hitting back at the her commenters, she mentioned she has been getting “ultrasounds every few days”.
Many expectant mums get just two scans throughout their pregnancy, so Teigen’s constant scans sound rather tiring. But ultrasounds are sometimes needed if there are problems with the initial ultrasounds, if there is a discrepancy in the foteal size along the way or if the mother has previously experienced miscarriage — so we just hope all is well in her pregnancy.
IVF pregnancies can require more regular ultrasounds to check everything is going smoothly, so that’s possibly why Teigen requires regular scans.
In any case, all that speculation about the size of the model’s bump led to some heated online debate about the etiquette of commenting on pregnancy bellies.
“On what planet is it ok to tweet someone WHO IS PREGNANT and tell them its probably twins because of how big they are?” asked @iamkatiehilton.
“I was huge right away because I have a lanky frame. I got the wildest comments all the time. You have to laugh at em,” tweeted @steaktweek.
“it’s not even a big deal, why… are you flipping out so bad? You know what you’re having,” wrote @KerstainParker.

But Teigen was so bothered by the previous rumours about her so-called twins that she swore off tweeting about her baby bump for the rest of her pregnancy.
“No more preg tweeting for me, lesson learned!” she wrote.
She has previously vented about her dislike of “nosy” questions surrounding fertility issues with Tyra Banks.
“I can’t imagine being that nosy to be like, ‘So, when are the kids coming?’ because who knows what somebody’s going through?” Teigen said on Banks’ TV show FABlife.
“Who knows if somebody’s struggling to have children?”
We wish Teigen and Legend all the best with their pregnancy.

As a couple who's about to undergo IVF treatment very soon ourselves, we wouldn't be announcing until at least 14 weeks (except for perhaps the very closest people to us) to ensure everything is going very smoothly and well. If Chrissy Teigen has had a miscarriage previously, I would expect this even more so. I suspect she's at least 14 weeks, so I'd expect to see a prominent bump already. I think that their baby is probably due no later than early March.
I find this hilarious, if you put yourself out there and constantly use social media every damn second of the day with updates, are you expecting only positive comments???
Be real, we know how these things go down. Either cop it on the chin or stay very private.
