"I think I underestimated this whole mummy thing": Cardi B pulls out from upcoming tour.

Getting back into the workforce after giving birth is a daunting process for any new mum.

When American rapper Cardi B fell pregnant with her first baby, she planned to go back to touring once her baby was six weeks old.

But now, as her upcoming international tour with American singer Bruno Mars approaches, the 25-year-old has decided to pull out from the tour to stay home with her husband Kiari “Offset” Cephus and their baby girl Kulture.

Posting on Instagram, the new mum shared that she wouldn’t be joining Bruno Mars on the final leg of his international 24k Magic tour in September.

“I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically,” she wrote.

She also wrote about how she believed she’d be able to take her newborn daughter on tour with her.

“I think I underestimated this whole mummy thing,” she added.

“Not only am I just not ready physically, I’m not ready to leave my baby behind since the doctors explained it’s not healthy for her to be on the road.”

Bruno Mars expressed his support for Cardi on his Instagram page, writing “most important thing is you and your family’s health”.

“I know the fans will understand. You are absolutely doing the right thing,” the 32-year-old wrote.

It’s not the first time Cardi has opened up about the struggles of being a first-time mummy.

Writing on Instagram, the rapper explained why she’s been absent from social media.

“It’s been a little hard for me to reply back cause this mummy job requires full day, all day, all night attention,” she said.

I don't know anything about Cardi B, but how good is it to see a celebrity admit this. So many female celebrities and females in media head back to work after 6 weeks and make it look like it's nothing, and having had two difficult newborns I always wondered HOW do they do it? Thanks for giving people a more realistic picture of what newborn life is like.
