LEIGH CAMPBELL: 'We're halfway into 2024 and these two products have already won.'

I know we're only halfway through the year, but I'm calling it.

From all the product launches I've seen come across my desk and hit stores in the first six months of 2024, it's clear what the two biggest beauty categories are for this year.

Firstly, cleansing balms.

I've never witnessed cleansing balms having such a moment. There were a handful of great ones a year or so ago, but since then there've been countless new pots of nourishing cleansing goodness for us to choose from. 

A cleansing balm is the perfect first clean for your face, followed by your regular cleanser. It melts away makeup and sunscreen without stripping the skin, making it ideal for the cooler months.

Secondly, sheer glowy bases.

We can thank the virality of the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter for this evolution. While that's not a new product, its popularity on social media spurred on countless dupes and encouraged the category of dewy, barely-there foundations and skin tints as well as radiant primers to explode.
