LEIGH CAMPBELL: 'There are 8 products I ALWAYS have in my handbag.'

Last week, Emily Vernem, Mamamia's content producer, asked me to tell her the one beauty product that’s always in my handbag. So rude. Just ONE?!

She was compiling an article that was a roundup of the one product the Mamamia team always has with them, so I wasn't allowed to hog anymore space and list more than a single item.

Truth is, being a combo (read: shiny) girl who loves a glowy makeup look, I have a little kit of touch up goodies I carry in a small makeup pouch and transfer from handbag to handbag. My face arsenal, if you will.

The beauty pouch is a cheapie from Amazon ($12.98). I like it because it’s made from a really thin mesh that doesn't add extra bulk to my handbag. I also have another one for hair ties, bobby pins, painkillers and bandaids.

In it is a packet of blotting papers ($2.50) if I need to matte down my shiny bits in a hurry. I also carry a small translucent powder ($26) and travel face brush ($18) for when the shine gets serious. A baby bronzer ($26) is also in there for touch ups, though it doesn't get used all that often.

I have also decanted one of my favourite face mists ($42) into a small travel bottle ($4) in case I need a burst of hydration to ‘juice’ up my makeup again, especially if I’m applying concealer or foundation over the top of that morning’s makeup.

Oh, and a small bottle ($6) of decanted foundation ($16) as well. Then of course a lip balm ($19), and a baby lip liner ($12) too, because why not?

Sounds like a lot, but it all fits in the little black bag and even if I don't use it, I feel better knowing it’s all with me in case I get stuck in the rain/sweat my face off/Jason Mamoa asks me out on a last-minute date.
