Open Post: Our boss dressed up as a panda. What's happening in your world?

We get asked a lot what it’s like to work at Mamamia and there are a lot of potential answers to that question.

But the simplest answer this week would be that: On Monday our publisher/creator Mia Freedman rocked up to the office, went on live television and walked her dog, all dressed in a hooded panda onesie.

So, what’s it like to work at Mamamia? Unusual. And a whole lot of fun.

This week is Wild Onesie Week. It’s an event hosted by the WWF, Australia’s Global Conservation Foundation to raise awareness and funds for the protection of endangered species.

“If you’re passionate about protecting species be brave and ‘become one’ for a day or even the whole week and experience what it’s like to be an endangered animal,” said WWF CEO, Dermot O’Gorman.

“We know animal onesie’s have caused a stir. Gen Y loves them while others have compared them to such trends as acid wash jeans, parachute pants, scrunchies and velour track suits”.

And Gen X too it seems…. Mia has taken up the cause with gusto. Check it out:

Over to you now, what’s happening in your world?

I would say i've suffered from anxiety for about 3 years now.
It all started when there was a death in my family and I was overseas at the time and came back early. Now I am heading overseas again and can't shake the feeling that something is going to go wrong. I stay up and night stressing about it. I've been overseas since 3 years ago many times but only for like 10 days-3 week trips, this time I'm going for 6 weeks and feel that it's just too long for the anxious me to cope with. I have all these ideas and all these places I want to see but then I book and feel that I wont be able to cope. I'm travelling with my boyfriend who is extremely understanding and accepts that when Im stressing that I haven't heard from my family and need to find wifi ASAP he makes sure we find it. I'm extremely close with my family and it just feels like im stuck between a life I want to have but am too scared to have. Everytime someone in my family says they feel sick or are suffering from a certain symptom I become a google doctor and have diagnosed them with every condition/cancer possible. I'm aware of my issues Im just unsure whether its something I can deal with without receiving help.

Sounds like you have a lovely boyfriend and I wish you all the best. It takes courage to not let anxiety stop you from living your life xxx

I'd suggest that you visit your GP to find out whether there is something that can be done for you. It doesn't have to be medication, he/she might suggest therapy to help you get past this, and it's worth investigating. Perhaps ask yourself this: how amazing would it be if we could go away and have a fantastic time - anxiety-free?
