Man in custody over horror murder of mum and two children in Adelaide.

Adeline Rigney-Wilson’s family are this morning waking to a changed world, a world without her and her two young children.

Yesterday afternoon, the bodies of the 29-year-old and her two children were found inside her home on the outskirts of northern Adelaide.

A 30-year-old Hillier man, identified by the media as Steven Peet, was last night arrested and charged with murder.

In a statement, South Australia Police said they arrived at the remote Jack Cooper Drive property at 1.30pm on Monday where they discovered the body of a woman, a 6-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy.

It remains unclear how the trio died.

Peet, who was present at the home when police arrived, was taken to Lyell McEwen Hospital and treated for an undisclosed injury. Two other men who were also present are currently helping police with their investigation.

According to The Adelaide Advertiser, Peet is not the father of the murdered children and had only been living with Rigney-Wilson at her Hillier home for the past six weeks.

Barossa Local Service Area officer-in-charge Chief Inspector Alby Quinn told the media that the nature of the crime was very traumatic for all involved, but that police believe they have their man.

“This does appear to be domestic-related and we are not looking for any other further persons in relation to this incident,” he said, according to The Adelaide Advertiser.

Peet has been denied bail and will face Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today.

You know what is really sad, we are seeing so many stories like this they fail to shock me anymore. Just another kid and partner murder story, I am numb to it which is really rather depressing.
