“One of the best bathrooms I’ve seen." All the photos from The Block main bathroom reveal.

Sunday night’s episode of The Block is always the most satisfying, as we view and judge all the newly renovated rooms.

This week was all about the teams’ main bathrooms. And one couple forgot to put a toilet in their bathroom, confusing… everyone.

Another couple reconfigured their floor plan, and Jesse and Mel continue to be picked on by the judges. What’s new?

Here are all five of the bathroom reveals.

Mitch and Mark

You may remember Mitch and Mark won the master bedroom reveal last week despite being the only pair to not deliver a master bedroom. Their risky move to break the rules and instead deliver a luxury entertaining space worked wonderfully well as they happily walked away with $10,000 in prize money.

During judging, Darren said “change the architects plans at your own peril,” and that’s exactly what Mitch and Mark did this week, once again, with their main bathroom.

In their fourth week on The Block, they decided to build a laundry and an ensuite.

Darren complimented the men on their “neat and well-contained laundry,” adding “they have planned it really beautifully”.

Shaynna, on the other hand, believed they “could have made it a lot bigger,” by extending their bench for laundry purposes.

As for their propensity to modify the architect’s floor plan, Darren commented: “Some weeks it’s going to work in their favour and other weeks it’s going to work in their detriment”.

Mitch and Mark scored themselves a 24.5.

Deb and Andy

Deb and Andy didn't have a good week.

Despite their "Alexa", a custom-made vanity and their "timeless" styling, the couple left the judges unimpressed.

Why? Well they didn't provide a... toilet. Which seems like a fundamental part of any bathroom but, hey, let's not get caught up in such trivial details.

"Their style and taste is spot on," Shaynna remarked. However upon realising the absence of a toilet, she stated: "This feels a lot smaller without having the toilet in it".

Overall the judges agreed "This isn't really feeling like a main bathroom," leaving the team with a score of 22.5 - the lowest score for the week.

Lesson learned: Don't forget your toilets.

Elise and Matt

Elise and Matt altered their floor plan, after it worked superbly well for Mitch and Mark last week.

Instead of a main bathroom, they've designed an en-suite for a second master bedroom. They also added windows to the design, allowing for natural light.

"What Mitch and Mark have done, Elise and Matt have done, but better?" Darren said. "Mitch and Mark look out, these two could beat you at your own game."

However, Darren was concerned for anyone applying makeup in their bathroom, noting the lighting around the mirrors would make for an unflattering and hard-to-see reflection.

"Good luck getting your eyeliner right," he said.

Overall Elise and Matt came second place, scoring themselves a 26.5.

Jesse and Mel

Unfortunately for Jesse and Mel they have been unable to meet the standards they set for themselves in week one, when they won the reveal with their Guest Bedroom.

Although Shaynna's initial thoughts on their bathroom was that it "feels light and bright", the judge's comments quickly turned to criticism.

Neale did however appreciate their progress "from the tomb you delivered in your first bathroom".

Darren stated the box in their shower - which Jesse used his 'secret' tiling skills to achieve - was "quite ugly".

Mel however defended their design, noting she has "got somewhere to shave my legs now".

Neale stated he felt "consistently disappointed by their styling." Which is like when your parents say they're not angry, they're just disappointed. Precisely no one wants to hear that.

Jesse and Mel scored 24 - placing them second last.

Tess and Luke

Tess and Luke - the only couple yet to win a room reveal - quite simply, nailed it.

Their styling, storage and spacial awareness saw the judges shower them in compliments. They also had a skylight above the bath, which earned them a double thumbs up from the three judges.

"I love this room and I’m excited,” Shaynna exclaimed.

“It just feels so modern and so different and so many textures and colours, but it all complements each other so well,” Neale said. "They demonstrate that luxury can come out of simplicity."

Darren even declared their reveal as “one of the best bathrooms I’ve seen on The Block”.

No surprises that Tess and Luke were the winners of the Week Four bathroom reveal, with a score of 28.

I'd really like to see them hire a top real estate agent as a judge next year, these judges only care about what's pretty and stylish, not what's practical. Who really wants a toilet and open plan dual showers in a main bathroom?

Practicality seems to be very low on the list of considerations, doesn't it. I wonder how many of these houses end up being a complete pain in the bum to live in, and need renovating after only a year or two.
