We're six episodes into The White Lotus season two. (If you're yet to watch episode six, go watch it immediately and meet us back here.)
The cocktails are becoming more potent, the one-liners even zingier, the simmering tension is reaching a delicious fever pitch, and there are two questions on everyone's mind: who will be murdered and who will do the... murdering?
Ok, quick reminder. In the opening scene of the first episode, Daphne (Meghann Fahy) wades into the water in her designer bikini and stumbles upon a body.
The hotel management is alerted and they hint this isn't the first body they've had to deal with this summer. Yes, we love a summery Sicilian getaway with a dash of murder.
The clues about who will meet their untimely, water-logged end lie in the theme of this season. While the first season was about race and class, season two is clearly about the relationships between men and women and toxic masculinity. Creator Mike White actually told Deadline this season will focus on "sexual politics".
"It definitely feels like White Lotus; the theme is different. It’s not about power dynamics, more men and women, and sexual politics," he told the publication.
With this is mind, I think the murder-ee (?) will be a man and the murderer will be a woman. (Sisters are doin' it for themselves, etc etc). But who knows at this point? Every damn episode I change my mind.
Here are all my theories about what happens in The White Lotus season two finale:
Ethan kills Cameron.
Look, if Cameron doesn't get murdered by the end of the season, we'll take to the streets.
Almost everyone has a motive for murdering this d**k, including each and every one of us playing along at home.
But after episode six, the person most likely to kill Cameron is Ethan Spiller.
Ethan becomes enraged with jealousy after he sees Cameron and Harper flirting at the bar and then finds Harper acting suspicious in their room.
He starts to imagine Cameron and Harper hooking up. And Harper seems to be enjoying this development, almost as though she’s setting up the men for a final showdown.
Clever gal.
Daphne kills Cameron
Up until episode five, Daphne seemed almost oblivious to her husband’s cheating ways.
Then she told Harper that she was having an affair with a blonde-haired, blue-eyed trainer and showed her a photo of her blonde-haired, blue-eyed kids.
Well played, Daphne.
In episode six, Daphne jokingly asks Cameron what really happened during the boys' night and then gets a massage from a man she describes as Timothee Chamelet with… muscles.
Perhaps, there’s more going on below the Daphne surface than we first realised. After all, she did tell us early in the season that she “does a lot of Dateline”.
“We do a lot of Dateline. I love it,” she said. “Husbands murdering their wives. Happens a lot on vacation."
We're onto you, Daph.
Lucia sets up the DiGrasso boys.
Ah, the Di Grasso boys, everything that's wrong with the male species, wrapped up in a three-generational Italian-American family.
Over the past couple of episodes, all three of the Di Grassos have become entangled with Lucia, the Sicilian sex worker. Bert finds Lucia and Mia in his room one morning, Dominic pays them for sex on several occasions, and Albie unknowingly hires Lucia for sex at the end of episode four.
In episode five, Dominic tells Lucia to stay away from his son, while Lucia hints she has no intention of doing so, telling Mia, "That boy is rich and innocent".
In episode six, Lucia joins the Di Grasso family on their trip back to the “motherland”. However, while they’re driving to find their long-lost relatives (who evidently... hate them), Lucia notices that her Italian pimp is following them.
She tells the Italian-Americans to pull over. They try to convince her to stay with them, but she gets in the car with the Italian pimps and drives away. Setting herself up as the perfect victim.
Later, she tells Albie the pimp is demanding more money from her.
It seems our good friend Lucia is up to something and found the perfect marks in the Di Grasso family.
I’m betting in the final episode, Lucia hits them up for more money or tries to steal their money, and there’s a confrontation.
Greg sets Tanya up.
Greg seemed like a great guy for Tanya in season one. He wanted to have sex with her even when she cried about her dead mother saying she was too fat to be a dancer.
But Greg is UP TO SOMETHING this season.
In one of the earlier episodes, Greg mentioned something about his prenup. Then he took a "work call" in the bathroom and then just up and left.
At first, I thought our good friend Greg was cheating on Tanya and therefore Jennifer Coolidge and therefore all of us, but now I believe Greg is up to something far more sinister.
In episode five, it became abundantly clear that the fun gays might actually be the ~ sinister gays ~ and that they may have an ulterior motive for luring Tanya and Portia to the villa.
First there was the weird conversation between Tanya and Quentin after the opera. Quentin told Tanya he fell in love with an "American cowboy" decades ago and the American cowboy broke his heart.
And then he told her he would "kill for beauty".
In the final scenes of the episode, Tanya wakes to strange noises. She walks through the hallway and peers through a half-open door. There she finds Jack (aka the hot English nephew of the fun gays) having sex with Quentin? His uncle? It's giving Game of Thrones but it's also a big ole hint that Quentin and Jack aren't who they say they are.
In episode six, the fun gays host a party at the villa and set Tanya up with a good lookin’ fella with a lot of cocaine.
Just when they’re about to hook up, Tanya notices a photo in a frame on a cabinet. She picks it up and looks closely at it. And ~ I SWEAR ON CAMERON’S WATERLOGGED BODY ~ that it’s a young Quentin and a young Greg in the photo… both wearing cowboy hats.
THEY’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER.
Despite seeing the photo, Tanya continues to hook up with the good lookin' fella with the cocaine, but if you look closely, you can see a hidden camera in the background.

So, back to Greg's prenup. How much do we want to bet there's an infidelity clause in that prenup? As in, if Tanya cheats on Greg the prenup is void.
I believe in my heart of hearts, they're setting Tanya up. Greg and the fun/sinister gays are trying to catch Tanya in the act of cheating, so Greg's prenup is void.
Then he can divorce Tanya, get a chunk of her money and share it with his fun/sinister gay mates.
Which brings me to…
Portia is onto the hot nephew.
At the start of episode six, Tanya hints to Portia that Quentin and Jack’s relationship might not be quite what it seems.
While Tanya and the fun gays have a cocaine party, Jack takes Portia out on the town.
They decide to stay at a hotel, and Jack, while inebriated, hints that Quentin is up to something.
He says that he has no money and almost had to sell the villa, but now he’s going to get the money and split it with his friends.
Portia seems to be putting the pieces of the puzzles together.
Will she rush back to the villa and try to save Tanya?
Mia is an... evil genius.
Towards the end of episode six, Valentina gives Mia the master key to the resort so they can hook up in a vacant room.
While it's a nice little sexual awakening for Val, it also means that Mia might still have the master key... and therefore access to the entire hotel?
That might come in handy for her friend Lucia's plan.
Or maybe there will be a showdown between Val and Lucia and Mia?
I don't know. It feels too obvious to have a hotel worker involved in the murder/murders after the demise of 'sh*t in a suitcase' Armond at the end of season one. So maybe not?
Only one more episode to go, summery, Sicilian murder fans.
