Dreamworld may reopen this weekend after police handed the site back to the company saying they had finalised their on-site investigation.
The ending of that chapter of the police investigation came yesterday as mourners gathered to farewell two of the victims of the Thunder River Rapid’s Ride, Kate Goodchild, a mother-of-two, and her brother, Luke Dorsett at St Christopher’s Cathedral at Forrest, in Canberra’s inner-south.
The pair’s uncle Ray Dorsett told the service the family will continue to seek answers to the circumstances of the tragedy.
“We cannot know for certain how long we have here,” he said.
“What we can do is to live our lives as best we can with purpose.”
The park’s owners are expected to give a statement today about when the park will reopen.
2. America votes: Clinton and Trump make their final pleas on the day before the US Election.
Mrs Clinton appeared in Pennsylvania, Michigan and North Carolina, with the Obamas and her husband Bill and daughter Chelsea.
Mr Trump and his running mate Mike Pence were in New Hampshire and Michigan. They will travel to Florida, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
Hillary Clinton told reporters if elected she would unify a country divided by one of the bitterest presidential campaigns in American history.
“I have some work to bring the country together,” she said.
The FBI have announced she has now been cleared of the latest email probe.
Donald Trump called on the American people to "deliver justice" to Mrs Clinton, claiming she was being protected by a "rigged" system.
"You can't review 650,000 emails in eight days, folks, you can't do it," he said.
More than 41 million Americans had already cast their ballots in early voting.
Voting opens today at 4pm AEST and a result is expected around mid-morning Thursday.
3. Tiahleigh Palmer's close friend shares tribute on anniversary of her death.
A year after the murder of Brisbane school girl Tiahleigh Palmer, a friend has shared a tribute to her on Facebook page dedicated to her memory.
The sister of Mia-Sky Pfingst, who was Taihleigh’s best friend has shared a post written “in loving memory of Tiah”.
She says Mia and Tiah became friends easily,” I was wired and she was wired too, well we were like weird buddies.”
Mia wrote: "She made me laugh when I was down; she also made a world full with joy and happiness. Growing up with Tiah was amazing, we did everything together like, get in trouble together, messed around a lot, played games. Those years with her where amazingly fantastic, our adventures I could never forget.”
She says as they began high school she promised Tiah they would stay friends and “be there 24/7 with her no matter what happened.”
“But that promise never happened and I'll never forget her and the amount of fun we had together she will be loved by me and all others and I could never replace her with someone else. I love and miss her so much and the amount of love I have for her is not explainable because I love her to much to explain.”

4. Same-sex marriage plebiscite defeated in late-night Senate vote.
The Senate has voted down the Federal Government’s proposed plebiscite on same-sex marriage.
The plebiscite was defeated 29-33 in a late-night vote.
Labor, the Greens, the Nick Xenophon Team and Derryn Hinch combed to defeat the proposal.
Before the vote Attorney-General George Brandis warned that a plebiscite was the only foreseeable way to achieve same-sex marriage and that if defeated, "the cause of marriage equality will be delayed for years".
Australian Marriage Equality chairman Alex Greenwich told Fairfax Media the focus would now shift to netting a parliamentary vote before the next election.
"The past 12 months has been a very difficult time for the LGBTI community," he said. "We now need to make sure that we channel the frustration of the plebiscite into passionate advocacy to achieve this reform."
5. More chilling details on Paul Lambert emerge just days after he tried to rape and kill doctor Angela Jay.
Disturbing details about Paul Lambert have begun to emerge as it is revealed he stalked an American TV reporter before he tried to rape and kill Angela Jay.
The Courier-Mail reports that Lambert has a long and frightening history of stalking.
He was shot dead by police on Thursday after he tried to kill Angela Jay, whom he’d met on Tinder.
The Courier Mail reports he was arrested in the US last year for stalking Fox News reporter Brittany Ann Keil.
According to documents filed in a Florida Court, Lambert “maliciously threatened (Ms Keil’s) reputation, threatened to expose her to disgrace, expose her secrets … with the intention to compel Brittany to see him”.
“He also has attempted to extort money in exchange for no contact with her and in exchange for not following through with his malicious attempts … to ruin her life.”
The pair dated for three weeks but she broke up with him he was dying from a brain tumour in an attempt to gain her sympathy. According to reports between April 30 and May 6, Lambert bombarded Ms Keil with 23 emails, 11 Facebook messages and 12 phone calls, as well as calling her employer and posting comments about her on social media sites.
She was forced to take legal action and have him arrested and deported.
6. “Smell from a sausage sizzle could kill me.”
A Sydney woman who developed a meat allergy after a tick bite has such a severe allergy that she can’t even go near a Bunnings on a Saturday in case there is a sausage sizzle, as the mere smell can kill her.
The 52-year-old from Oxford Falls in Sydney’s northern was diagnosed with mammalian meat allergy five years ago.
According to The Manly Daily she has had three life threatening attacks in the last year.
“But I’ve needed adrenaline three times in the last five years,” Janelle Williams said.
“That’s when you know you’re seconds from death.”
Mrs Williams is extremely sensitive to beef, pork, lamb or goat, as well as products that derive from mammals including butter and dairy. She can’t tolerate some lollies, vaccines, headache pills and can’t even put on a band-aid.
Her husband Stefan said if they go in a cafe or restaurant and can smell bacon cooking they have to run for their lives.
7. Measles warning after 11th case in South Australia.
South Australians are being warned to make sure their vaccinations are up to date after an 11th person contracted measles.
The infected person is a 34-year-old woman from the town of Gawler, South Australia.
SA Health's Chief Medical Officer Professor Paddy Phillips said she remains in a stable condition at home, where she is self-quarantining.
“This is the fifth locally acquired case in the Gawler area in recent months so I urge anyone who is unsure of their vaccination status to visit their GP to ensure they are fully immunised," Professor Phillips said.
“Immunisation is the best protection against measles and it’s vital that everyone has two doses of the vaccine not only to protect themselves but to protect the wider community."
