She may not have been the strongest singing Spice Girl but Victoria Beckham knows how to make those millions.
Victoria Beckham earns more than her million-dollar husband David Beckham, according to leading financial analysts.
Just last week, the former Posh Spice was named Britain’s top entrepreneur for building a business empire so powerful, she’s closed the gender pay-gap in the Beckham household.
So how has she done it?
Just her company, Victoria Beckham Ltd., has grown from a modest $1.25 million to $37.5 million in just one decade. She has a cult following of celebrities like Kate Winslet, Sarah Jessica Parker and Beyonce purchasing her $20,000 bags, but it's more than this. Let's break down Beckham.
1. Although the Spice Girls is a distant memory, VB still earns royalties of up to $800,000 each year, with her fashion and style books giving her in excess of $1.25 million.
2. Endorsements. Few women can sell a purse, or a shirt, like Ms. Beckham can. In 2009, she signed a $13 million, three-year deal with Armani. Two years later she was paid a reported $1.5 million for an advert for Japanese handbag designer Samantha Thavasa. She received a six-figure sum for designing a Range Rover, while the 2007 advert for Tesco netted her and fellow Spice Girls $1 million each.
3. Property. Victoria's half share of their homes in West London, Beverly Hills, Thailand, and the new winery addition to the families residences in the Napa Valley, equal a staggering $27 million.
4. Art. Her keen eye for modern art means Victoria owns $32 million in coveted pieces by Banksy, Damien Hirst and the Chapman brothers.
5. One word: Birkin. Victoria Beckham owns more than 100 Hermes Birkin bags, with the collection estimated to be worth more than 2 million. Tiny puppies are not allowed in her handbags.
