It's Uma's turn. The actress's face we're all talking about today.

Famous actress doesn’t look how she did 20 years ago. Shocking, isn’t it?

Okay, straight up, let’s not pretend it hasn’t happened, Uma Thurman looks different. Dramatically different. There is no need to tiptoe around that, so let’s discuss it.

Some media outlets are specifically asking their readers to comment about the change, others going so far as to say “There’s something not quite right with her face”.

Sadly, we as a society seem to have an obsession with celebrity faces, specifically when they change suddenly and without warning.

Hypocritically however, it seems we want two things from our celebrities, especially women. We want them to to stay consistently beautiful, yet we judge them when they do something radical to maintain this consistency.

But here’s a groundbreaking newsflash: PEOPLE AGE. Uma Thurman is not going to look like the same woman she was in Pulp Fiction. Because that was 21 years ago.

Just like Renee Zellweger, who was recently subjected to the same worldwide attention and speculation when she herself looked noticeably different, I can’t help but feel some kind of sadness that these women feel the pressure to maintain perfection and then perhaps, take it a little too far.

This reminds us of something …Why is the world losing its mind about Renee Zellweger’s face?

So here it is. I look at this picture of Uma and think that she still looks beautiful, poised and well, to be perfectly honest, she looks her age.

Does she look dramatically different? Well, when you compare these two pictures, the first was in 2000 and the one above was taken 15 years later, sure, of course there is a dramatic difference.

I personally don’t know why and honestly don’t care. Do I believe that women, not only celebrities should age gracefully and refuse cosmetic enhancement? No, I believe every woman should do whatever it is that makes THEM feel good about themselves.

MIA: It’s time to stop being angry with these women.

That said, should we be discussing her today? Yes, Should we be judging her? No. What we should be doing more of is normalising and embracing the fact that women, ALL women, age. I believe they should have the right to choose.

How they chose to go about the process, is exactly that, a choice.

What do you think?

As I said on the Renee article, I don't have a problem with cosmetic procedures, I only have a problem with people lying about it. That being said (again), there is a huge difference in having work done and having your whole appearance change. It seems to be a new phenomenon.

I have no problem with people lying about it because it's their business. They don't owe us the truth because they are famous. I think it's great if they can say they had plastic surgery because there is no shame but if they don't want to share that info with us, that's completely reasonable
