Hero, Shocker and Whinger of the week: the Swift seagull edition.

Welcome to Mamamia Rogue’s Shocker, Hero and Whinger of the Week.

We’ve got another great week of winners and doozies. If you don’t know what this is all about, a quick refresher: Every week we pick the biggest Hero, Shocker and Whinger from the past seven days. The hero – someone who did something awesome. The shocker – a moment or person that made our jaws gape. The whinger – someone who has just had a big waa-fest.

So here are the podium places for this week…

Hero of the week goes to…

The seagull that got hit by a cricket ball at the MCG on Wednesday night. And survived like a boss.

The bird was hit during a Big Bash League game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday night. He took quite the hit – with many thinking the bird was dead.

They carried him to the outside of the field so they could continue the match. Then the bird not only made a miraculous recovery, he got his revenge…

Shocker of the week goes to…

This newspaper cover from the Fraser Coast Chronicle.

Because apparently there is no better breaking news than Pauline Hanson getting a trim. Thank goodness they all woke up seeing this image this morning.

Lives. Changed.

Whingers of the week go to…

Yes, there’s more than one this week. Because this week we’ve seen a myriad of whinger’s all over the internet campaigning against #Tay4hottest100 – also complaining about being labelled as hipsters.

We got some pretty great comments from hipsters people about our support of Tay for JJJ.

And there’s a whole lot more where that came from.

Who was your hero, shocker and whinger for the week?

Whinger of the week part 2: people who can't get over the fact that it's triple j's hottest 100, and they should be allowed to set the criteria.

Shocker, The Courier Mail trying to talk up Campbell Newman. I love the smell of desperation in the morning
