Every year, around late July, thousands of punters descend on the North Byron Parklands for the three-day Splendour in the Grass music festival.
This year the likes of Lorde, Kendrick Lamar and Ben Howard taking the stage, but music aside, we need to talk fashion.
It’s a little bit exhibitionist and a little bit outrageous. We wrap up the best and most noteworthy looks from the festival, including flares, bejewelled corsets and some super standout leotards.
The festival bohemians.
‘Woodstock’ is a state of mind and music festivals are the only time to release your inner Stevie Nicks, Janis Joplin or Sienna Miller circa 2000s. Some of the best bohemian looks included fringing, flared pants and long, floaty layers.
The game-changing “extra” looks we couldn’t stop looking at.
It wouldn’t be festival fashion if it wasn’t outrageous and kooky – Splendour delivers on this every year. Here are some of our favourites.
The weather appropriate looks.
These punters proved you don’t need to suffer for fashion as they managed to remain warm and cosy without compromising style.
The pant-less looks.
In real life, you can’t exactly leave the house without pants, but anything goes when it comes to festival fashion.
When in Rome.
The hats.
Hats definitely had a moment at this year’s festival. Several punters were seen in cowboy hats and trilbies.
The makeup.
Go hard or go home is the name of the Splendour fash-un game and the same applies to the makeup looks. These ones had us captivated.
The hair.
If Instagram is anything to go by, glitter partings and intricate braids seemed were popular hair looks this year and we’re into it.
Speaking about festival fashion here were the best looks from Splendour in the Grass 2017.
