'I hated getting ready in the morning. Then I found out about the 'Style Maths' method.'

Look — I'm not a fashion girly. My worst chore is having to pick out an outfit to wear every single day.

It takes me so long to choose something, that I usually end up wearing clothes that are either weather inappropriate, fit weirdly or just don't look good (at all).

If I was confident enough to wear the same outfit every single day, I 100% would. So, all my fashion dreams came true when I was introduced to the Style Maths method.

The Style Maths method is perfect to me. It helps me make decisions on what to wear in the morning, it hits the spot of me wanting to wear the same thing every day and it also makes me look pretty good (she said egotistically).

So, what is the Style Maths method, you ask?

It's the idea of paring three different tops, three different bottoms and three different pairs of shoes together so you can make up to 27 (!!!) different outfits.

Here's how I tackled the 'Style Maths' method.

I wanted my outfits to be cross-seasonal, so I picked pieces that were semi-casual that I could chuck a jacket on top if needed. I also wanted these 27 outfits to be suitable for work as well as drinks with girls as well as just having a casual weekend out and about.

So yeah, I went in with super high expectations, and surprisingly my entire criteria was met.

Let's start with the tops...

To make this easy on myself, I picked three of my most favourite tops that I own. Luckily, they were all completely different which is what I think makes this method work the best. I chose a long-sleeved pink shirt, a graphic tee and a basic black bodycon.

For the bottoms, I did the same — Three different types but still sticking to the casual theme. Jeans and two skirts, both mid-floor length, one was black satin and the other a deep brown.

And for shoes, I had my trusty Adidas Gazelle sneakers. I went a bit out of my comfort zone for the others and chose pairs that had small heels (which I don't usually wear). One of them a casual open-toe and the other was a mid-length cowboy boot.

Now before you ask... yes, these are nine pieces of very different clothing so of course I didn't get 27 perfect outfits. What I did get was brilliant combos that I never thought would've worked together until I tried it. Here are my new favourite fits from trying the Maths method.

This is my favourite outfit out of all of them. The bodycon top, the satin skirt and the cowboy boots — All black (classic) but even though these were all casual pieces, this outfit is now something I wear on fancy nights out. It's a great date outfit, for drinks with the girls or if you're attending an event.

For the office.

My workplace's dress code is very much "wear-whatever-you-want". I lean heavily into the casual look because I prioritise my comfort. This method was perfect for finding work fits. My favourite combos were the brown skirt with either the bodycon or graphic tee and the jeans with the bodycon... Yes all of them had the sneakers as my shoe of choice (I can't help who I am).

Casual weekend.

I'm one of those people, who leaves their house at 7am and comes back at 10pm. Okay, maybe this is an exaggeration, but I love being out and about on weekends — It's where I feel most like myself.

Whether it's visiting my grandparents, going to a museum, watching some live music or having brunch with the girls, I move from event to event so I'm usually wearing something casual and comfy.

These outfit combos are my new weekend picks of choice that last all day comfort wise, as well as make me feel like I've actually put effort into my outfit (even though I haven't).
