Shower the haters in confetti made from “100% recycled lies”.
A handmade paper business in Dublin, Ireland, is making sweet, sweet lemonade out of the sour lemons produced by hateful preachers.
When the good folk at Daintree Paper came across anti-gay marriage propaganda, they decided to turn it into something beautiful: confetti.
In the name of marriage equality, the small business is making confetti out of “100% recycled lies” — aka homophobic hate campaigns.
“When paper was used to print some pretty ugly lies in the lead up to the marriage equality referendum, we wanted to do something about it,” the Shred of Decency campaign states.
“We want to collect any negative and dishonest flyers, leaflets and online literature and recylce them into something positive.”
The group are selling bags of confetti for anyone based in the UK for around 4 pounds ($7) with all proceeds going to Yes Equality, an organisation pushing to secure a yes vote in Ireland’s Marriage Equality Referendum on May 22nd.
But you can also show your support by sharing a video online with hateful lies you’ve shredded yourself, just hashtag #ShredOfDecency and #YesEquality to join the conversation.
