1. “It was very difficult and I’m happy it’s over.” Selena Gomez opens up about her split from Justin Bieber.
In the middle of a press tour for her album Rare, Selena Gomez has opened up about her past relationship with Justin Bieber and shared she was a ‘victim’ of ’emotional abuse’.
Talking to NPR about her song ‘Lose You To Love Me,’ the singer said: “I felt I didn’t get a respectful closure, and I had accepted that, but I know I needed some way to just say a few things that I wish I had said.”
She continued: “It’s not a hateful song; it’s a song that is saying — I had something beautiful and I would never deny that it wasn’t that. It was very difficult and I’m happy it’s over.”
When asked explicitly by the reporter if she was talking about Justin Bieber, she conceded.
Gomez said she believes she "was a victim to certain abuse", before clarifying that it was "emotional abuse".
"I had to find a way to understand it as an adult," she said. And I had to understand the choices I was making. As much as I definitely don't want to spend the rest of my life talking about this, I am really proud that I can say I feel the strongest I've ever felt."
Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber were in an on-again-off-again relationship for seven years between 2011 and 2018.
Bieber is now married to Hailey Baldwin.
2. "It reminds me of those moments." Miley's ex-sister-in-law Elsa Pataky doesn't care they have matching tattoos.
When it comes to matching tattoos, we often hear stories about how much people come to regret them. However, Elsa Pataky says she has no problem sharing matching ink with her ex-sister-in-law, Miley Cyrus, who was married to Liam Hemsworth.
Elsa, who is married to Liam's brother, Chris Hemsworth, told Vogue Australia, “I don’t regret any of them, they’re symbols and I love having them and it reminds me of those moments."
The 43-year-old actress got a tattoo of a small wave with Miley back in 2016.
Elsa previously shared her thoughts on Liam and Miley's breakup back in November.
“My brother-in-law, well, after a relationship where he dedicated 10 years, he’s discouraged… but he’s taking it well,” Pataky said at the time.
"He’s a strong guy and he deserves the best. I think he deserves much more."
3. Oh. Apparently the Royals are preparing to welcome Meghan and Harry back to the UK if Canada doesn't work out.
After paparazzi photos were published by British tabloid press of Meghan Markle and baby Archie in Vancouver last week, senior royals have apparently started preparing a contingency plan to allow the couple to return to England.
Sunday Times reports that courtiers fear media pressure from paparazzi on Vancouver Island will negatively impact the couple.
According to The Sun, sources close to the royal family claimed Prince Charles and Prince William have “reached out” to Harry and Meghan, saying they could return to the UK without having to resume their official royal duties.
“The palace are very worried about the Sussexes because they are vulnerable outside the embrace of the family," a source close to the Royal Family supposedly said.
“They are making contingency plans in case the Sussexes suddenly turn round and say: ‘Can we come back under your wing?’”
“They wouldn’t return to royal duties, but they could have a period of rehabilitation and recuperation," the source added.
“This is a looking ahead thing. There’s no timeline here. But everybody agrees that this is a fragile couple. Nobody is going to say, no they can’t come back."
4. Finally! We get a few details about Taylor Swift's ultra-private relationship with Joe Alwyn in her Miss Americana doco.
Taylor Swift has always been known for her public relationships, which is perhaps why she has kept her current one so intensely private - to remove the world's eyes and opinions for her personal life.
But in her new Netflix documentary, Miss Americana, the singer has opened up about the three reasons she has fallen in love with her partner Joe Alwyn.
In the trailer for the film, Swift shares that Alwyn's "wonderful, normal, balanced kind of life" caught her attention.
It's only a small snippet of their partnership. But we'll take it.
Swift, 30, and Alwyn, 28, have been dating since 2016.
Miss Americana will be released on Netflix on January 31.
