Every crazy plot line on Sex and the City happened in real life.

No matter what’s going on in your life, relationship fails and successes, hard time at work or new friendships, there’s one TV show that can relate to us – Sex and the City.

It’s as if Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda are living out our lives on screen, or they’re getting into our minds.

And even the outlandish, insane drama and sexual conquests are somehow relatable. It’s as if the show isn’t JUST a TV show.

Well, it turns out there’s a very good reason why we all relate to the four gal pals so well – every single sex and relationship related event (i.e. the whole show) was based on a real life events. Yep, every weird and wonderful thing to happen to the women ACTUALLY happened.

In an interview with IMDbAsksdirector Cynthia Nixon (aka Miranda) revealed that all of the plot lines happened to either the writers themselves, or someone they knew first hand.

“They had a rule in the writing that they couldn’t put anything in an episode that didn’t literally happen to someone in the writer’s room or someone they knew firsthand.”

So that means that out there in the world is a man who broke up with a woman via Post-It, and some guy actually only wants to have sex after winning a sports game and there is an S&M restaurant.

I’m also going to take this as meaning I can absolutely afford a full wardrobe of ridiculously expensive (but gorgeous) designer shoes on a writer’s budget.

Does this also mean there really was a rich handsome man, and his chauffer driven limousine, who just happened to turn up whenever needed?
