And so the (faux) feud continues.
Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have had an ongoing social media feud for some years now and no, not even a global pandemic will stop their fun.
Aussie power couple Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary this week, which is truly remarkable considering in Hollywood years that is at least 50.
So, to mark the occasion, Jackman posted a heartfelt message on his social media accounts expressing his love for his wife and the mother of their two children.
“These 24 years have been the best of my life! And, as far as I can see, we keep getting better. I love you Debs with every fiber of my soul. Happy anniversary,” Jackman shared with his nearly 30 million followers alongside an old image of the couple.
While thousands sent their congratulations and well wishes for the couple, Jackman’s good friend Ryan Reynolds took the opportunity for a little fun.
“Hang in there, Deb,” Reynolds commented.
It’s not the first time Ryan Reynolds has had some fun with Hugh and Deb’s wedding anniversary. In fact, he seems to be making a habit of it.
In 2018, the Australian actor shared another sweet anniversary message, writing: “I believe in life we need to see and truly be seen by the most important people in our lives. Deb, from day one, we had that. 22 years later… it only gets deeper.
“You and the kids are the greatest gift I will ever receive. I love you a gazillion times around the world.”
But Ryan Reynolds, in true Ryan Reynolds fashion, saw the romantic message as the perfect opportunity to poke some fun at his friend.
“I gave this 3 months. Tops. I was wrong,” he commented on the post.
Wrong you were, Reynolds!
The two actors worked together in 2009 for the X-Men Origins: Wolverine film.
Ever since, they’ve given us the greatest fake celebrity feud of our time.
