From Ladypool's identity to surprising Hollywood stars: Every celebrity cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine.

One of the most anticipated releases for this year, Deadpool & Wolverine, is finally here.

Reuniting Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on screen for the first time in 15 years since X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the sequel to Deadpool 2 is a meta feast for the eyes and ears that I was lucky enough to preview.

The movie picks up on a single and jobless Wade Wilson (aka our antihero Deadpool), who is tasked with saving the world from extinction by reversing the death of Wolverine in Logan. Deadpool decides to bring a Wolverine from a different timeline to the future to umm, *checks notes* fix the destructive plan of the Time Variance Authority (TVA).

It's a lot to take in! But basically, it's just a lot of Deadpool and Wolverine stabbing each other and other superhero types with a variety of knives, swords, and metal hand claws.

This is a movie for the Marvel Cinematic Universe stans with a buffet of niche references to basically every MCU film in recent memory. But it's also a film for just fans of the leading actors as details about their personal lives are scattered throughout the script.

Obviously, this article is packed full of spoilers so proceed with caution, friends.

Deadpool & Wolverine spoiler: Hugh Jackman's divorce from Deborra-lee Furness is referenced.

There are so many meta lines in this movie referencing both Reynolds' and Jackman's personal lives and careers that it's impossible to keep up. But one piece of dialogue left my jaw on the floor, as Deadpool turned to Wolverine and said: "He's usually shirtless, but he's let himself go since the divorce."

It's hard to imagine that Deadpool is referring to Wolverine's divorce and not the high-profile divorce between the actor playing him and Australian actress, Deborra-lee Furness.

Last year in September, the popular couple announced they were divorcing after 27 years of marriage and two children together.

"We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth," they said in a statement to PEOPLE

In May 2024, Furness told Page Six that "This is a year of evolution for me."

She added the last few months have been "scary" but she's "grateful" for this new chapter.

Deadpool & Wolverine is the first film Jackman has released since his divorce was announced.

Deadpool & Wolverine spoiler: Blake Lively as Ladypool.

When Deadpool and Wolverine have to fight an army of Deadpool variants, Ladypool leads the charge. In recent weeks, there's been speculation over the identity of Ladypool with some predicting a surprise cameo from Taylor Swift.

Sadly, the character's identity is not shown as she wears a mask, but we do hear her voice. Thankfully, the credits listed the mystery woman's identity: Reynolds' wife, Blake Lively.

Deadpool & Wolverine spoiler: Chris Evans as Johnny Storm.

In the cameo that will likely be the most talked about of them all, Chris Evans makes a delightfully deranged return as Johnny Storm. Despite the actor being better known as Captain American, who is also referenced in the film, he returned as the unhinged character from the 2005 movie, Fantastic Four.

Despite Fantastic Four copping some brutal reviews in its day, Evans' Johnny Storm has since found a cult following.

Deadpool & Wolverine spoiler: Jennifer Garner as Elektra.

Now THIS is a cameo we can all get around. Coming 11 years after Daredevil and nine years since her own origin film, Jennifer Garner returns as Elektra for a delightful cameo.

There's even a cheeky reference to her on-screen love interest and off-screen ex-husband, Ben Affleck, passing away, a tragedy that Elektra confesses she is apparently 'over it'.

Deadpool & Wolverine spoiler: Channing Tatum as Gambit.

This is a cheeky Easter egg for comic book fans with the niche character of Gambit making an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine and played by none other than Magic Mike himself, Channing Tatum.

The character of Gambit often popped up in the X-Men comics and wielded superpowers through playing cards. The character spoke with a mysterious accent that blended French, Spanish and American. Channing took this and ran with it by speaking in a nonsensical accent that Deadpool mocked throughout the latest film.

Deadpool & Wolverine spoiler: Wesley Snipes as Blade.

Another God-tier cameo came from Wesley Snipes as Blade, a human with vampire strengths who takes on other vampires. Between 1998 and 2004, Wesley starred in three Blade movies and his cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine is no coincidence, as this will be the actor's last chance to play the iconic character before Mahershala Ali is set to replace him in an upcoming reboot of the film franchise.

Deadpool & Wolverine spoiler: Dafne Keen as X23.

And finally, in a cameo that will leave X-Men fans sobbing, the character who Wolverine sacrificed his own life for at the end of Logan is thankfully still alive and well.

In Wolverine's last film, Dafne Keen's Laura is back, a mutant made in lab with similar powers to Wolverine who was given the name X23. She reunites with Wolverine in the new movie although she's greeted by a different man who came from a darker timeline. But X23 manages to offer him some words of encouragement in one of the movie's most touching moments. So many cameos!
