She’s the queen of fashion PR in Australia, so it comes as no surprise that Roxy Jacenko‘s wardrobe is, well, a designer dreamland.
However, in a revelation that might break some fashion-loving hearts, the Sweaty Betty PR and Ministry of Talent CEO says she doesn’t hold on to many of her high-end purchases.
As Jacenko explains in the latest issue of OK! magazine, she sells the majority of her wares on Instagram at the end of each season.
“Working in fashion and fashion PR, trends are constantly changing,” she explains. “The only things I really hold onto are my Hermes bags and Chanel jackets.”
Jacenko frequently documents her personal style on Instagram, but she’s thrown open her closet doors for an even closer perve peek behind the scenes for the weekly magazine. And it’s really something else.
The 35-year-old’s wardrobe is populated with clothing, shoes, brands and accessories from some of the world’s biggest fashion houses, including Chanel, Gucci and Dior.
Watch: Paula Joye shares her winter wardrobe tips. (Post continues after video.)
She’s also the proud owner of 12 (yep, 12!) Hermes Birkin bags, valued at roughly $15,000 a pop. The most recent one was a rare crocodile skin version.
Even if you pay no attention at all to fashion, that name probably rings a bell; if you’re a Sex and the City fan, you might recall it as the handbag Samantha Jones sabotaged her job as Lucy Liu’s rep in order to procure.
Bondi-based Jacenko says her Birkin collection is her favourite wardrobe item, telling OK, “they’re appreciating assets.”
Designer-wise, she names Givenchy, Chanel, Hermes, Balmain, and Louis Vuitton as her top picks. Aussie lines Bassike and Jac + Jack also get the nod.
While fashion runs in her blood — both of her parents were clothing manufacturers — the 35-year-old “doesn’t really enjoy” shopping. (Hurrah, it’s not just us, then.)
“When I do get the opportunity, and a couple of hours free, I hit the shops hard,” Jacenko admits, and jokes that she’s simply doing her part to keep the “fashion economy afloat.” Hey, we all need to contribute.
Jacenko’s four-year-old daughter Pixie Curtis boasts her own collection of heart-eyed-emoji-worthy items.
Along with an array of Disney Princess costumes (because of course), the mini Instagram star and face/”fit model” of Pixie’s Bows owns a number of designer clothes.
Jacenko says most of her daughter’s clothes are bought online, because her style is more “over the top” than what can be found in the Aussie kids’ fashion market.
“She wears what she likes. We don’t worry about the kids getting stains on their ‘nice clothes’ – why not enjoy and use the beautiful things you have?” she adds.
You know what? That’s all the incentive we need to whip out our ‘save for a special occasion’ dresses this weekend.
What’s the most beloved thing in your wardrobe?

Completely unsurprised that she has a handbag made of crocodile skin.
Nice to see Roxy protecting her children now, with private Instagram accounts!
