The Stan Original Documentary Revealed - Renee Gracie: Fireproof delves into a truly fascinating story.

Verstappen. Hamilton. Norris. Sainz.

These are the big names dominating the tracks and headlines in the motorsports industry.

And they're all men.

In motorsports, the keel is decidedly tipped in the favour of male athletes but there's a new generation of females coming through the ranks and they're threatening to change the narrative.

One Australian racing driver leading the charge is Renee Gracie and she's dominating the industry on her own terms.

The young driver is at the centre of the Stan Original Documentary Revealed - Renee Gracie: Fireproof which is set to give a fascinating look at what it's like to be a female driver in a male-dominated sector.

Here's everything you need to know.

Who is Renee Gracie?

Born and raised in Brisbane, Gracie first dipped into kart racing when she competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship. In 2013 she became the first female to compete in the competition and by 2015 she had a 100 per cent race-finishing record.

She then swiftly moved into the Supercars Dunlop Series where she broke down more barriers becoming the first full-time female competitor in 14 years. Later that year she competed in the Bathurst 1000 race and followed it up again in 2016 where she finished 14th.

In the past eight years she has gone from strength to strength racing in the Super2 Series and the GT World Challenge Australia. At the same time as making waves in the motorsports industry, Gracie decided to try her hand at another career path - the adult entertainment world.

In 2019 she launched her OnlyFans account and decided to step back from racing and claimed at the time "racing cars is not my passion anymore." Her pivot into creating adult content was largely due to the male-dominated industry of racing becoming financially untenable. She stepped away from what she loved.

And then, she decided to make a comeback.

What is Revealed - Renee Gracie: Fireproof about?

Three years ago filmmakers Frances Elliott and Director Samantha Marlowe knocked on Gracie's door — they knew there was an important story to tell.

Revealed - Renee Gracie: Fireproof sets out to lift the lid on what it's like constantly coming up against a wall of misogyny all while grappling with public scrutiny.

This documentary is an empowering battle cry for women who dare to step beyond the archaic parameters of how society believes they should behave. Gracie's story has all the highs and lows so often thrust upon women who are born to break barriers.

“Renee Gracie has been the subject of public scrutiny across international news outlets and comments sections ever since she was eighteen-years-old, merely for daring to be a woman who had a passion for driving V8's and going fast," said co-writer and co-directors Frances Elliott and Director Samantha Marlowe. "Over the years, a storyline of who she is has been created, twisted and warped until it’s considered truth. Revealed - Renee Gracie: Fireproof hands the wheel to Renee, allowing her to tell her own story, from her perspective, and reclaim the narrative of her own life."

Revealed - Renee Gracie: Fireproof has been produced by Cody Greenwood (Girl Like You, Under the Volcano) and executive producer by Cailah Scobie and Amanda Duthie.
