Queensland police have found toddler snatched from his home.

A Gold Coast toddler kidnapped from his house yesterday has been safely found in Coolangatta.

Following the abduction at approximately 4pm on Tuesday, police issued an amber alert to the media and provided the model, colour and registration number of the vehicle they believed the two-year-old boy to be travelling in.

Then on Wednesday morning a member of the public contacted police with information, trailing the vehicle until police arrived and arrested 43-year-old Wayne Neale Pearson.

Pearson is said to be the young boy’s grandfather.

Police have said that the toddler is safe and well.

Queensland Police have issued an Amber Alert after a two-year old boy was taken from his residence on Julie Way in Mudgeeraba around 4pm yesterday.

Police believe the boy may be at serious risk after last being seen in a red 1993 Toyota Landcruiser, driven by 43-year-old Wayne Neale Pearson, a man known to the toddler.

Authorities are seeking urgent public assistance in locating the Gold Coast child, described as being Caucasian in appearance, having auburn hair and green eyes.

Pearson is described as being Caucasian, about 182cm tall with brown hair and a proportionate build.

The man is believed to have a medical condition and has not contacted friends or family since taking the child from the premises. His Landcruiser four-wheel-drive has a Queensland registration 295-SZB.
