@guest mumma yeah seems very young.  I can't see how they would be needed, I recall a few years a go a corupted roblox video was on youtube kids and that was enough to stop my kids having a device until they absolutely had to for school in year 5

@krisvee that's just not true.  With my first pregnancy in 2009 i was told 1-2 drinks a week was absolutely fine,  I didn't even ask about drinking,  my obstetrician volunteered that info at my first appointment.  It wasn't clear at all.

The Government needs to help. It needs to address the worker shortage. More subsidy for parents isn't the answer when centres are having to shut the doors due to worker shortages. The best way to address and support the sector is Gov to subsidise the wages of workers, it will attract and  retain more quality educators, prices to families will actually come down as more places will be available and overall the children will be better off. If one more Governement decides to subsidise the cost without supporting educators the sector will crumble. I work in the sector and have seen the bottom line, the majority of centres aren't making huge profits, most are barely breaking even, 60% of fees on average are directly going to wages, then once you add rent, utilities, food, training etc etc there isn't much left. We pay above award wages but we genuinely can't increase them any more without raising prices significantly and then we get accused of price gouging.

If you trust hime as you say its a non issue. Maybe worth examining if you really do trust him if it's bothering you so much. He has told you about it, he's not sneaking around ect. Red flag for sure if he hadn't told you about it but since he has, I don't think you have any right to forbid it.

Aussie netballers. Amazing role models showcasing their sport,  a lot also study and have other jobs and they are perfect for young women to aspire to

I find this strange, My children have attended 3 different primary schools and back to school never cost anywhere near this.  iPads have never been compulsary, BYOD was introduced for Year 5 but any working laptop would do, not iPads and those who couldn't afford one used the spares at school. Stationary list cost less than $100. They are both now in high school and the costs (school fees aside) are also nowhere near that high. Potentially the issue is that there seems to be no standardised list or requirements between schools? Why aren't all public schools funded equally?

Wow, so you dont like colour. That's OK but enough judging people who do. Not everyone wants expensive looking neutrals, some poeples style is to include colour

I honestly thought it was mandatory, my company has has it in all their centres for years. It has been invaluable in assisting with a variety of things like training, it has helped when an educator has a medical episode while cleaning in a room on their own so we could give good information to the paramedics and of course it is there in the event we get a question from a parent. I know families get peace of mind knowing its there and so do the educators.

I totally agree, the Child health nurse with my eldest told me to switch to formula at 6 months as clearly by daughter was starving on breastmilk since she was still wanting a night feed, thankfully I got a second opinion and she got a reprimand.  Some are wonderful but others need better training

I agree cost of living is an issue, but wages can't go up the same as inflation or inflation will just go up....basic economics. Instead, they need to focus on whats driving inflation so our wage growth (which is actually not too bad if inflation was under controls) is more effective.
