These behaviours and patterns sound very much like borderline personality disorder.

Clare, I find it unbelievable that people say negative things about you because I don't really know how a journalist/author/podcaster could be any more likeable than you. You're always so real, so well spoken, so thoughtful in expressing your opinions and so mindful of the impact your words have on the wider world. You always come across as extremely smart, aware and open, and I can't see how people find fault in this. I hope you keep being exactly who you are and as time passes the comments of others become less and less of a factor in your life. The world needs more people like you in the public realm.

I work (indirectly) with Georgie and can vouch for the fact that she is the loveliest person and deeply, deeply committed to the welfare of humans and animals and to ending injustice. She's exactly the kind of person you'd want on your side if you found yourself in a bad situation. Whip-smart and compassionate, she's a fantastic person to be in Parliament having input into laws that affect us all.

I find most of this story hard to believe. No retail sales person I have ever encountered would speak to customers like that, asking them about their relationships and personal life.

This is bone chilling. I would be so terrified in this situation. I am really glad the author is taking legal action but I hope she has put other things in place to protect her safety. I don't know how anyone would feel safe again after experiencing something like this.

Wow. Stellar reply! You've contributed so meaningfully to this discussion. I really respect your well-argued points and will rethink my stance on this issue. Thanks!

Yes, agreed. I am a problem that my parents chose to create for themselves to solve. Everyone is. Creating new life is inherently selfish.

So what are your objections to my comment, exactly? Saying a comment is stupid and then disappearing is cowardly. Justify your reasoning.

Children are a problem that people intentionally create and then congratulate themselves on solving.
Nobody NEEDS to have a child. It's a lifestyle choice - a project that you decide to undertake. If employers are going to afford staff paid time off to pursue personal projects, it should apply to any project the staff member chooses. And it should apply to men and woman equally.
