Thank you for this article. This issue is complicated by factors most haters apparently don’t have the capacity to consider, e.g. the lifetime of consequences of being the daughter of an abusive man. Whatever Laura Brand decides to do, I imagine she is going through a personal hell while she tries to make that decision.
As a woman who was betrayed by a partner of 20 years and a close mutual friend, I am disturbed by this article. The fact the writer is participating in this emotional affair is one step away from giving in to temptation. How would she feel were the situation reversed? Unless they have been through it, no-one can understand the pain of betrayal by people you trust with your life, especially those to who you are closest in this world. Almost seven years later, I'm still seeing my therapist. I am now of the opinion that one of the foulest people on earth is a woman who chooses to hurt or possibly destroy her friend to ostensibly secure the fairy tale's 'happily ever after'. Just imagine; to this woman no friendship is more important than having a 'husband'. Don't be her.
