I’m so sorry this happened to you. In this day and age when people can’t be fake tanned enough using the darkest colour they can get away with, I find this disgusting. 

I got sick of the dread feeling in the pit of my stomach and opted to not be paid any of my benefits until after the end of the financial year, it has meant sometimes we struggled some weeks but I haven't had debt and then get a lump sum payment of what they owe. 

As someone who also had two kids in their early twenties and also step parenting two others at the same time I've felt weighed down by those choices and wish I could have moved and worked overseas but I've decided once the world opens up I'm going to go with my now husband and my two kids and do it everything I wished I'd done as a twenty-something it might cost more but I've decided to stop wondering and doing it well one day when covid normal travel is livable. Ps They can do their own good damn laundry. 

@mamamia-user-482898552 I know they can't mandate, but they have other options of persuasion eg don't allow the planes into Australian airspace. 

I most definitely feel for this family with what has happened while they've been gone however, it was already widely known that you should reschedule holidays as flights to the uk and china we're already impossible and or cancelled. It is also criminal of the airlines the charge and only accept business class passengers. I understand they need money to fly the plane etc but seriously the government should step in here and mandate they go on a first in first serve basis.
