The compelling theory that Prince William is Banksy. Based on no evidence at all.

There's a huge conspiracy theory brewing about a certain member of the royal family... no, not her. This conspiracy theory runs so deep that only a selected few people know about it. By a selected few people, I mean only one person knows about it... and that one person is me — and soon to be you (you're welcome).

Not many people believe this theory because their little brains can't fathom that Prince William is most definitely the anonymous and internationally famous street artist Banksy

You however, have a really big brain that will understand everything I'm about to put forward here.

Even my editor begged and pleaded with me to write this saying, "Emily this theory is so brilliant the world needs to know about it. Please grant us this gift and also accept a $100k pay rise."

For legal purposes, I have to disclose that this quote is an interpretation of what she really said... which is this:

Same-same.

Make of it what you will, I'm taking this as a win.

Here is the evidence from my serious investigation that Prince William is Banksy:

1. Banksy hasn't released any new installations while Kate has been unwell.

Banksy's last post on Instagram was on the December 22, 2023. Kate Middleton has been recovering from abdominal surgery since around the same time.

Prince William has been spending the majority of his time looking after Kate and in the little time he has left, he has to prioritise carrying out royal duties.

He hasn't had time to make more art, hence the long break between posting on his Banksy's Instagram account.

2. Prince William loves art.

Prince William has always loved art. So much so that he has a Master of Arts degree. Although the art he studied is actually geography; we have to read between the lines. Geography is just a cover. Have we ever seen photos of Prince William doing geography? No. We have however seen him on numerous occasions painting and looking at artwork. Coincidence? I don't think so.

3. They're both friends with Stormzy.

In June 2019, Banksy posted a photo of British rapper Stormzy with the caption, "I made a customised stab-proof vest and thought - who could possibly wear this? Stormzy at Glastonbury."

That same year, Stormzy appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show and talked about how he and Prince William go to the same gym and that William knew who Stormzy was and was familiar with his work.

This goes into my sub-theory that Stormzy occasionally fills in for William as Banksy if there's a royal emergency...

4. They both need money right now.

In 2018, Banksy posted a text message exchange to their Instagram explaining that they don't charge people to see their artwork. However, there's a Banksy exhibition happening right now locally in Sydney and... I just paid $40 for a ticket.

We know that the royal family are losing support and funding with each new generation so it looks like Prince William could do with some cash... very interesting indeed.

5. Kate and "Banksy's wife" fight with their partners at the same time...

A huge tell that William is Banksy is when the pandemic hit. To prove to the world that they were still working and still needed all of our tax dollars, William and Kate posted some very posy photos of them in their home offices answering some calls. A few people pointed out that Kate wasn't wearing her engagement ring in these photos.

A month later, Banksy posted an extremely chaotic image of a bathroom to their Instagram with the caption "My wife hates it when I work from home." We would hate that too Kate.. we would hate that too.

6. He literally admitted to it...

Finally, the most telling piece of evidence of them all.

In 2009 Prince William publically said the words "I am actually… Banksy."

According to Marie Claire, he said that in front of an audience just before the opening of an art centre. Assuming he was joking, the crowd and journalists who attended laughed at this statement.

You know who didn't laugh? Me. Albeit, I was 12 years old when this breaking news took place... but I knew from that age that only Banksy would make a joke about being Banksy.

Now, 15 years later, it's time the rest of the world knows it too. Spread the word — Prince William is Banksy. The writing's on the wall... 👀
