Much-loved singer Pink has been forced to cancel several of her Sydney shows due to illness, in a result that’s upset many fans.
Tuesday marked the third show the 38-year-old singer had to cancel after she was diagnosed and hospitalised with a gastric virus on the weekend.
Although Pink hasn’t directly spoken about the ordeal, instead relaying information through Live Nation (her touring company), she’s just made a pointed social media move that perhaps expresses exactly how she’s feeling.
The pop star ‘liked’ a tweet by an Adelaide newsreader, Melanie Usher, who defended Pink against angry fans who missed out on her Beautiful Trauma World Tour performances.
“Geez – don’t fall sick on a concert tour of Oz,” she wrote.
“A performer is not a robot and they fall sick too. Give her a break and stop complaining about two concerts which ARE going to be rescheduled.”
Since falling ill, the singer has come under some backlash when her Monday night show was cancelled an hour and a half before doors were set to open. This drew criticism from fans who had travelled considerable distances and booked accommodation specifically for the show.
It’s understood the cancelled shows are will be rescheduled. Alternate dates have yet to be put forward. There are also three more shows scheduled for her Sydney leg of her tour on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, before her Brisbane shows.
The What About Us singer was discharged from St Vincent’s Hospital on Tuesday afternoon and is set to make a decision over her Thursday performance sometime today.

And to all those complaining arses out there I bet you don’t give notice to your employer when you are sick 🤒 I bet you ring in that morning leaving those at work to do your job at the last minute, so think about that before you have a go at pink.
You ring in the morning because that's usually the earliest you can call - nobody is at the office to take your call overnight. Pink probably could have (and should have) indicated that the show wasn't going ahead as soon as she was symptomatic, rather than calling it in at the eleventh hour.
I daresay she may not totally appreciate the amount of travel many people have to do to attend shows in a country like Australia, as opposed to more densely populated countries. I think far fewer people would be peeved if they'd received better warning.
Poor pink...it’s not like it’s something she planned or wanted to do, people need to get a grip.
Yep! I had tickets to Friday's show. I am from Melbourne and traveled to Sydney with my mum to meet my sister and niece from Brisbane to go to the concert. We were obviously disappointed but understand people get sick!! We had a great family weekend regardless.
Glad you made the most of it! We are all human ultimately and that’s what it comes down to
