New details emerge on the violent shooting, stabbing at Miranda Kerr's home.

Two men have been airlifted to hospital following a violent confrontation outside a Malibu mansion understood to be owned by model and entrepreneur Miranda Kerr.

The incident reportedly occurred about 11am on Friday when a man jumped the electric fence surrounding the 33-year-old’s property and was confronted by a security guard.

According to TMZ, the intruder stabbed the security guard in the eye before the guard fired four gunshots wounding the intruder.

Kerr, who shares the property with fiance Evan Spiegel and five-year-old son Flynn, was reportedly not at home at the time.

Footage captured by a local news chopper shows the security guard walking to an ambulance unaided, while the intruder lays on a stretcher nearby.

Both men were flown to a nearby Los Angeles hospital and are thought to be in stable condition and likely to survive.

Speaking to The Daily Mail on Friday afternoon, a spokesperson from the LA County Sheriff's Office said, "Deputies responded to a shots fired call in Malibu. They discovered a security guard had been involved in a physical altercation with an intruder."

"The guard was stabbed ... and he had minor injuries. He produced a handgun and shot the intruder three to four times in the face and torso," the spokesperson continued, adding finally, "Neither the guard nor the intruder has life-threatening injuries."

Neighbours have reported hearing gunshots and the intruder yelling loudly. They believe he appeared to be a 'homeless man'.

This violent incident comes less than two weeks after Kim Kardashian West was robbed at gunpoint in Paris.

Kerr bought the multi-million dollar property in 2014 following her split with Orlando Bloom. She has shared extensive areas of the home with various world-renowned publications and media outlets. It has seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms and a pool.

In September 2015, Kerr shared a tour of the Malibu home with Vogue Living showing off her garden, kitchen, bathroom and living areas.

In May 2016, Kerr took British Vogue throughout her bedroom and walk-in closet.

And last month, Australian news program The Project aired footage of the home's pool, backyard and sauna areas.

In the case of Kardashian West, police believe criminals were able to research hers whereabouts from her social media posts and study the layout of her Paris apartment by watching episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians that featured the home.
