The mother of a two-year-old girl has been charged with her murder after the toddler’s body was found at a property at Miller in Sydney’s south-west.
The toddler’s body was found inside a home after a family friend raised concerns with police.
Officers said a 36-year-old woman was arrested at the Blue Mountains Hospital and taken to Katoomba Police Station overnight.
She has been charged with murder.
The woman was refused bail and will appear in Penrith Local Court today.
The toddler’s body has since been removed from the home by the coroner.
Police said the home remained an active crime scene as detectives continued to investigate the circumstances of the child’s death.
