Almost as soon as news broke about the divorce of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, people started pointing fingers. And most were aimed at his Allied co-star Marion Cotillard.
But the French actress’s friends have rushed to her defence, saying she would be “absolutely devastated” by suggestions she has any role to play in the sensational split, or that she’s been unfaithful to her partner, fellow actor Guillaume Canet, 43.
A friend of the 40-year-old told The Daily Mail, “‘Marion and Guillaume are blissfully happy, and these kind of claims are not what Marion wants to be hearing.
“‘Claims that she’s cheating on Guillaume with Brad will leave her absolutely devastated. This doesn’t sound like her at all.”‘

Cotillard has a five-year-old son with Canet, with whom she has been in a relationship since 2007.
“She enjoys her family time and wants to enjoy more of it,” said the source. “All this fuss will be a huge shock to her.”
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie over the years.
Gossip mags were set into a spin when Graham King, the producer of Allied, a spy thriller in which Cotillard and Pitt star as assassins, described their chemistry as “electric”.
“Brad and Marion immediately had the utmost respect for each other, so once they delved into their characters, their chemistry was electric,” he told PEOPLE back in August.
“It was crucial for Brad and Marion to not only begin rehearsing together before the shoot, but they also spent a lot of time developing their characters with the director, Robert Zemeckis,” he added.
Wait… Brad Pitt, spy thriller, sparks flying on set with a woman who is not his wife. Isn’t that how he met Ange?
Surely he’s not that predictable. Surely.

He may be that predictable - doesn't mean that Marion is, though.
