It’s rare for Kylie Jenner to communicate an opinion on anything other than her new makeup range or luxury cars.
If she’s not pouting and sending ‘air kisses’ about her new lipstick colours ‘Koko’ or ‘Candy’, she’s fluttering her eyelash extensions and SnapChatting her many, many adoring fans.
Remember when Kylie admitted to using lip-fillers in an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians? (Post continues after video.)
Perhaps her long-running resistance to polarising opinion is partly the reason Kylie is so adored by her own demographic. At 18 years old, she doesn’t confront people with challenging topics. Her tweets and social media posts are not thought-provoking or impassioned. She concerns herself mostly with makeup, bags and beautiful things that don’t stir controversy other than that she is a teenager with wealth that rivals some third-world nations.
Until now.
On Saturday, Jenner posted a tweet so controversial it sparked instant ire among her young, adoring fans. And although the post was deleted in a hurry the Twittersphere is buzzing: Could Kylie Jenner be an anti-vaxxer?
If these tweets are anything to go by, yes. Yes she is.
The first post is an illustration by comic illustrator Ben Garrison, who specialises in satirical drawings.
The second image Kylie tweeted was taken from the website PreventDisease.com, a site which strongly advocates an anti-vaxxer position. The child in the photograph, one presumably from a poor nation, is seen wincing as she recieves an immunisation shot.
The ‘healthy living’ website consistently posts ‘reports’ about adverse reactions to vaccinations while reiterating that preventable diseases should be combated with ‘natural living.’
Kylie’s stance may have been different had she seen a loved one experience the disastrous effects of disease on an unvaccinated child.
While she may have plenty of experience rubbing shoulders with ‘natural living’ celebs and rich anti-vaxxer socialites, her knowledge of health in third-world countries seems fuzzy at best.
Do you think the tweet means Kylie Jenner is an anti-vaxxer?

Just to comment on the second meme, we all know its untrue but vaccines on the critical vaccination list in developing countries have been secured for dirt cheap and don't cost billions (millions maybe) And there are so many organisations trying to facilitate clean water and food into developing countries too. UNICEF secure both vaccinations and essential needs as do the WFP. The difference is that vaccinations are one, two or three doses and last a lifetime where as food and water need to continually be supplied.
This girl is 18 and has been brought up in a bubble and it looks as though she has no interest in pursuing higher education (i could be wrong, but she hasn't thus far). I have probably encountered about 10-12 antivaxers in my life and not one of them had any formal tertiary level education (not even a certificate).
Do antivaxers believe they're onto something? Do they think they've outsmarted us all? There are so many brilliant minds in this world who have achieved the highest levels of academic qualifications. Do they honestly think those of us with higher education are not able to critically analyse scientific studies and journal articles? Do they honestly believe that we don't question everything that is presented to us? The evidence for the safety and efficacy of vaccinations is abundant and incontrovertible. I even had a read of some anti vax sites and oh my. The articles would read like "The daughter of Mrs X collapsed immediately after her vaccination, thereby proving that vaccinations are dangerous. I could list many other examples, but i don't have time". How do people accept sentences like that at face value?
She is stupid, but with so many followers, she is also dangerous. How many young impressionable girls are now thinking of being anti-vaxxers because their idol is? Social media sux.
