Around Christmas time, it’s easy to get caught up in buying new things.

In their 2018 royal Christmas card, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have shown gifting the kids with hand me downs is very much still a thing.

On Friday evening, Kensington Palace shared a never before seen family photo on Instagram and Twitter featuring Prince William and Kate Middleton and their three adorable children – Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and seven-month-old Prince Louis.

The photograph, taken by Matt Porteous, is ridiculously wholesome, a denim dream, if you will.

Perched on a tree in the grounds of Anmer Hall – a country residence in Norfolk gifted to the Duke and Duchess by the Queen after their 2011 wedding – the young family posed for this photo in the UK’s Autumn, judging by the leaves on the ground.

The family is perfectly colour coordinated in denim and navy. Most notably, Princess Charlotte appears to be wearing a hand me down cardigan from her older brother Prince George.

George was seen wearing the navy Fina Ejerique knitted cardigan in portraits released for the Queen’s 90th birthday in 2016. It looks like the cardigan is officially Charlotte’s now – she was wearing it in her third birthday portraits with Prince Louis.

The photo is the first time we’ve seen Prince Louis since Prince Charles’ 70th birthday portraits were released in early November.

The baby Prince has grown up so much since then, though, with social media likening his looks to his mother’s Middleton side of the family.

It’s also one of the first times we’ve seen Prince George wearing jeans, or any kind of full length trousers, rather than shorts. Instead, Prince Louis is carrying on the tradition of royal toddlers only wearing shorts in public. Clearly, it was a chilly day when this photo was taken because Prince Louis chucked on some tights under his shorts. Bless.

The public on social media also can’t help but notice the resemblance between Princess Charlotte and her late grandmother, Princess Diana.

At the same time, Kensington Palace also released a previously unseen photo from The Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding reception.

The photo, which was posted on the Kensington Palace Instagram account as a part of Prince Harry and Meghan’s 2018 Christmas card, shows the couple with their arms firmly around each other, as they look towards the fireworks in the sky.
