WATCH: The hilarious Halloween prank parents pulled on their kids.

Jimmy Kimmel has done it again.

For the third year in a row, he asked parents to pull the ultimate Halloween prank on their poor kids:

Pretend they had eaten all of the lollies.

Parents then filmed their kid’s reactions and uploaded it to youtube to be broadcast on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Here’s what went down…

What do you think of Jimmy Kimmel’s prank? Hilarious or a little bit harsh?

I don't really feel that great about this. Sure, its just a few lollies. Sure, it's just a little lie to trick the kids for a bit. But come on... there is a kid, upset and distressed, because the whole trick-or-treating event, gathering the sweets, saving them etc obviously was something that the child looked forward to for a while and it means a lot to them. As adults we forget that children are not mini-adults- they see things VERY differently to us. What is something as minor as a few lollies to us, could be something that child has looked forward to coming home to ALL day whilst at school, only to have their hopes crushed, and then trust shaken by their parents. What is this whole thing saying to the kids- it's okay to lie/trick others to the point of extreme distress or sadness for personal enjoyment??
Am I overanalysing it? Maybe.. but there are many more instances in life where a child can learn about disappointment and how life works- for instance, not being invited to a party, or not getting chosen for a sports team, etc. Why would we want to take something that they care about and deliberately make them upset, only to then admit it was a lie? What an emotional roller coaster for the child. If you want to have fun with a few pranks, then do stuff that the kid will laugh along with, will find funny, will not be so distressed by.

I have a feeling that some of these are staged. But hey funs for the adults right? If anything it's going to (at least momentarily) teach kids about the cruelty of life? If my bf and I had kids theres not a doubt in my mind that he'd play this trick, he's the best trickster. Guaranteed we'd all be on the floor laughing/crying & it would memorable!
